Book Description

September 1, 2001
Dynamic Health Through Nutrition is a book that is sorely needed in our society, a society that is struggling to find health in a sea of unhealthy eating habits, surrounded by unhealthy foods that are often difficult to identify. We are not thriving, and our bodies are not strong and powerful as they are designed to be. Much of this has to do with not only what we eat but how we eat, the decisions we make about what we put into our bodies on a daily basis. Changing health begins with changing the way we think about our bodies. And the way we think about our bodies begins with a change in the understanding of how our bodies function and how what we eat or don't eat on a daily basis either builds up or interferes with this function. Take a journey towards greater health and wholeness. It begins at your dinner table and it ends in a place that few think they are even capable of inhabiting, a place of dynamic health, longevity and wellness.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

I wrote this book for the common person who often is confused by the massive amounts of information out there about nutrition, wellness and what to eat. I purposely wrote this book without a glossary for the simple reason that there should never be a word or concept that the reader feels confused about as he or she reads through the book. It's written in common language and hits on such difficult to understand subjects as antioxidants, trans-fatty acids, the acid/alkaline balance and the mechanisms of digestive function in the body.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nutrition guide with humor., December 29, 2001
By
This review is from: Dynamic Health Through Nutrition (Mass Market Paperback)
Dr. Lemerande is a whirlwind of clarifying, but funny explanations of how our bodies work. He makes it hard to forget the need for good nutrition with his illustrations: the slapstick repairing of a damaged house using junk materials, immune cells that won't "blob" properly, etc. His occasional humorous digressions can be distracting and some younger people may miss some of the movie references, but this book sure has personality; and Dr. L's very frank, irreverant style gets the info across painlessly. I'd recommend this to, as his subtitle says, "anyone who eats."
