A lot is missing,

The authors most referred to here are Spohn and his collaborators. The book is interesting, but gives the impression that the author wrote the first draft, and identified a number of topics that required further explanation. Rather than engaging, he added very brief notes on each of these things that require more attention at the end of each chapter, referring the reader to numerous other papers and books that the reader can sift through and assimilate on their own.
