Like life, tennis is always teaching you something. This book really accelerates the learning curve.
It takes a different approach than is usually taken, teaching a SYSTEM (of anticipation, movement, co-operation - not strokes), that, if followed, will make you a better (and less frustrated) doubles player. Although you can apply it's precepts and see your doubles play ratchet up a notch on day #1, it does take some time and persistence (and a partner playing the same SYSTEM) to really crank up your results. Corollary: Buy your partner a copy and, if you play on a team, get them all on the SYSTEM.
After reading Dynamite Doubles, you will know: Where to be (positioning); What to cover (court coverage responsibility..whose ball is it, anyway?); and, Where to hit (shot selection and placement). It will get you thinking outside the lines (the tennis equivalent of "outside the box"). You will play better, win more and enjoy yourself thoroughly...or, as Helle says: Ready? Then, read and react (to this book).
Delightfully, Dynamite Doubles is well written, often humorous, and just a "good read." A lot of care was taken to develop clear, easy on the eyes, layouts and fonts, and excellent very helpful illustrations. It is also well edited.
There are other tennis books, even books about doubles. This one is unequivically the best I've read. You will go back to it time and again.
Your doubles WILL be dynamite; you will ejoy your time on the court more, AND you will win more.

I have been a "social" doubles tennis player for more years than I care to mention and, before this book, I had never given much thought to important aspects of the game. Then I saw a long-time tennis friend reading this book and I became curious. After browsing through my friend's copy I knew I had to buy it. The book has great practical information on how to improve your doubles play immediately. The book emphasizes strategy and the mental aspects of playing doubles tennis. It has a lot of tips and techniques that you can start using right away.
As an aging athlete I had started to see myself becoming less effective on the court simply because I had always depended on athletic ability alone to play the game. This book showed me how to cover the court more effectively and how to become a better doubles player by capitalizing on strategy, technique, and experience.
I only wish that I had learned what is in this book years ago.
This book has made a dramatic impact on my play and has brought me to a new enjoyment of doubles tennis. If you play doubles tennis, I strongly recommend that you get a copy. Better yet, pick up two and give one to your doubles partner!

I have learned more from this book, than any other book or instructions I,ve read or had.I am a visual study and having the amazing diagrams in my head, make me feel better on the court.I can visualize the diagrams and feel confident that i am in the right place during the points,at an optimum position for the best shot.
I,m spending less time tripping over myself and apologizing and more time feeling comfortable on the court.
Thanks,

Having read many tennis books, most quite complicated, this one is so straightforward and systematic. While the writing is a little long, the system is straightforward where you can read and instantly apply it to your game (diagrams are clear). Better is if you can your partners to do likewise. So many tennis players don't get how doubles is supposed to be played: where to position yourself relative to your partner & opponents, where to hit the ball; this book answers these basic concepts and more. Great gift.

I love the layout of this book.

Each page is outlined and looks like an actual

tennis court! Helle keeps it simple. I learned

a lot more how I can recover quicker and grow

stronger long-term in tennis and in life. I really

appreciate watching doubles more too.

My doubles partner asked me to read this book after we lost a ladies league match to players we should have beaten. The book was an interesting and easy read with a lot of helpful techniques and strategies that any level player can apply to their doubles game. As an experienced player for many years, I found the book contained basic advice which I applied to my game and found it to be most helpful in strategizing on the court. My doubles game has improved as a result of reading this book. I highly recommend this to any player serious about their doubles game, and by all means, purchase one for your partner to read too! You won't regret it, and you'll review it again and again.
