Product Description

Fun and challenging puzzle with a nice interface and easy controls. You will discover a hidden picture filling cells on a game field. Large amount of puzzles won’t let you get bored!

First levels have hints for beginners and familiar with nonogram players can find more challenging larger puzzles. It’s easy to learn how to play the game, but you will need logic and analytical skills.

"Simple and awesome! It's the game I looking for, it's lightweight, simple, addicting."

"Love this game. Great controls. Keeps me from having to buy so many puzzle magazines and books...and pens!"

"Awesome game! I love this game...some of the puzzles are hard to figure out..but that makes it a challenge!"

"Very addictive. I play every chance I get."

"Great! If you want to challenge your self, then this is the app for you!! A very good way to keep your brain busy!"

Japanese crosswords, also known as nonogram, hanjie, griddlers, picross or paint by numbers puzzles, started appearing in Japanese puzzle magazines. Non Ishida published three picture grid puzzles in 1988 in Japan under the name of "Window Art Puzzles". Subsequently in 1990, James Dalgety in the UK invented the name Nonograms after Non Ishida, and The Sunday Telegraph started publishing them on a weekly basis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Game! July 3, 2012
Verified Purchase
Love this game! I enjoy both the color version as well as the original version of this game. Well executed. I like how game play is slightly different in the color version, and seeing the results of the completed color images is fun.

It did take me awhile to figure out (while playing the original game) that if you hold down on a square and slide one direction it will fill in all the squares in a line for how far you slide. The price is a bit steep but I enjoyed the first game so much I went ahead and bought this version. Great game! -Rachel (LoveMyFire)

Originally, I gave CrossMe Color a much lower score, but Dynamix has answered ALL my questions and put my fears to rest. Below is my new review (taking their answers into consideration):

CrossMe Color is a GREAT game. It has more Nonograms than anything else I have seen for the Android OS, however the price seems to reflect this achievement.

The object of this game is simple; you have to properly color (or not) the grid (playing field) and form an image. This is done by paying attention to the numbers given on the side of your playing field. Sounds easy enough, right? It's not. This is one of the most difficult brain teasers on the market (and most fun). Think of it as Sudoku on steroids (some of the later puzzles actually make my brain hurt).

The UI is excellent, and while there are no actual graphics to speak of (other than the background), the game does a good job of presenting itself. You can zoom in (required on the larger puzzles) and pan the grid however you wish. The sound, while (almost) non-existent suits this style of gameplay. I would like some music to play in the background while solving puzzles (not just during the level select), but I understand why it was not included (it could distract some people).

My only complaint is the inclusion of Scoreloop (optional data mining and score keeping), some minor spelling errors (hint is spelled as rint, fill is spelled as filled, etc.), and the incessant begging to purchase the original CrossMe game.

The following message surfaces every few games: "Do you like CrossMe Color? Try more traditional CrossMe with original crosswords." You are presented with the following three options: Try, Later, and No.
Try = The Amazon store page (to purchase of the original CrossMe for $4.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, Challenging Strategic Game at Higher Levels August 25, 2012
Verified Purchase
The tutorial was a tad confusing, but once you start playing the game you quickly get the hang of it. In fact the first easy levels make you think oh this is too easy, who couldn't do this and you zip through the puzzles. Then they get harder and that's where the strategy comes in and you have to figure out what squares need to be marked in the row so that the columns also turn out right. It's fun to see what picture develops as you play the game. Often part way through the game you know what the image will be but even then you are left wondering how to complete it.

As for permissions I believe the developer has explained what they are and do above and beyond the call of duty and I'm frankly tired of good games being unjustly rated by paranoid reviewers. I'm more concerned with what CVS and the grocery store chain do with the data they collect from my rewards card purchases than if a game developer is capturing my mother's phone number or tracking how often I play Tetris.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great and addicitive February 17, 2013

This game is great and very addictive. Some might say like sudoku, but different. I love all the different difficulties. Being played on a phone adds to it. I do wish though that the random puzzles after completion would keep the picture, kind of like a track of all that has been completed

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome except for permissions -- now just awesome August 24, 2012

This is the favorite game in our house and would give it 5 stars. However, it used to require no permissions and now it has all the snoopy ones. That makes me sad inside.

Update: Looks like they listened, because now they only do network access permissions. That's not ideal still in my mind, but it's such a great game I'll let it fly with 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightfully surprised. August 24, 2012

I'm not usually a fan of puzzle games like this one, but because it was free today I decided to download it and try it out. The puzzles start off very easy so you can learn the game and how to play it, but it gets progressively more difficult. I was surprised to discover how much I enjoy this game! It works great on the kindle fire - no bugs, force closes, etc. It was thoughtfully made, and when the puzzles get bigger the drag and zoom features are a great tool to have. When I finish this game I will definitely consider buying the first one. Thanks amazon - every once in awhile your FAotD is a true gem. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars If you liked the original, you'll love this. June 29, 2012

I gave the original 5 stars and this is no different... it improves on the original by adding color. if you enjoyed the original you owe it to yourself (and the developer) to get this game. I know $5 is steep and I wish they would have lowered the price but it's worth it for the hours and hours of enjoyment this game provides.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great interface to an addictive game. April 6, 2013

Motorola Xoom Tablet

I went looking for a monogram app, and was not impressed with the others. Cross Me and Cross Me Color look better on the tablet, the controls are intuitive and responsive. There are probably five times as many puzzles in this game as most others, so the price is reasonable. I would like to see the X get its own button along with the other colors. Not changing the current scheme, just add an X.

I'm looking forward to the 3-D edition.

Solution to level 3.11?
I solved it by trial and error, which is lame, but oh well. Seems to be something wrong with the level, since you should be able to solve without guessing. To help you get started, the very top right square is orange.

Bushi 3.8
This one drove me nuts too! I re-did this one multiple times before I got it :) The end picture is a bunch of grapes, the very bottom row of purples are in the 7th, 8th and 9th square from the left- the top row of purples are in the 4th, 5th, and 6th squares from the left! Good luck!
