This is a perfect product for anyone who travels or works long days. This powerful battery pack can charge your smart phone or extend the use of your smart tablet. It is beautifully designed, small and portable. It uses two top of the line Samsung 18650 power cells which will provide years of recharging capability. These are the same style of batteries used in many portable computer battery packs.

What I like is that the unit is priced well and it is so small and portable but can really carry a lot of power. You could recharge most smart phones from 2 and up to 3 times with this power cell. I have included a video of this review and I hope it is helpful to you.

Please note that the unit comes with two cables and you can charge the battery with your PC or with the wall AC adapter. The wall adapter will charge the battery pack twice as fast at 1 Ampere DC because your computer's USB port is limited to 500 mADC. The charging port requires a USB micro-B connector that comes with the unit.

The output current to charge your devices is limited to 1 Ampere but it still was able to charge my iPad 2 and iPad 3 which normally charges at 2.1 Amperes. Please remember that after you connect your device to press the power pack's "On" button one time to start the charging. Make sure to take note that your electronic device indicates that it is charging. The blue LEDs on the front that flash when the unit is charging or stay on to indicate the battery charge level are very bright. I had to cover them up at night as to not light up the ceiling of the bedroom, especially when they were flashing. (Very distracting)

Here are the product features:
* 5600 mAh capacity
* Compact and portable weighing in at only 4.

In terms of physical size and weight, I'd place this at about the same weight as a cell phone and a bit larger than a couple of 9-volt batteries stacked on top of each other. You can easily wrap a hand around it, or slip it into a pocket, and the weight is enough that you'll know it's there.

The main thing you should care about with a product like this is how much of a charge you can get from it. My cell phone is the Samsung Epic 4G, and has an extended battery installed. This pack was able to charge it from around 25% to 100% over an hour or so. It did that twice, and charged my brother's Motorola Droid once. Then, it provided maybe 20% of a charge to a 'New iPad' (a.k.a. an iPad 3). For the size, weight, and price, I was pretty impressed.

There are two "tricks" to using it. The first is that to initiate a charge from the battery to your device, you need to connect the cable and then press the button on the front of the battery to start the charging. Press the button twice quickly (like a double-click of your computer mouse) and the flashlight turns on (or off). The flashlight is a single, bright white LED and works well enough for basic needs.

I haven't measured the time it takes to charge the pack itself. When I've used it, I've just plugged it in and charged it overnight.

The charging port takes a standard micro USB cable. For my phone which charges with the same port, that's perfect. It means that all I need to carry is the wall plug and my normal USB charging cable for my phone to use it on the go. (Plus the iPad cable if I plan to use that.) The battery comes with a bunch of other plugs that, honestly, I will likely not use.

This little power saver is a great idea. I often worry about battery life and running out in an emergency. This little product is so easy to charge, and use. It holds a ton of power to recharge your cell phone and it is very portable, but also very well built and sturdy.

I never worry about my cellphone running low in a power outage or an emergency. I have two of these now and have recommended it to several of my friends! A well made, quality product that could save a life and also give you peace of mind for any emergency!! 5 Stars for sure!

Love this charger. Provides about 2 full charges and then some for my Iphone 4s. Although the description lists that it is a databank for the Iphone, it doesn't come with the adapter for the iphone. There are many others that I will never use though! It just has a regular USB port so you have to use your own cable.

Bought this product on sale (I have some other power banks Romoss and Ravpower and offbrand units).

Short summary: 500mA mode works fine and is well regulated @ 4.95v for the entire runtime and provides 3450mAh of regulated 5v output. 1000mA discharge is regulated only for the first 1.2Ah, then drops out of regulation and drops way out of USB specs. The performance at 1A is unacceptable (voltage ranged from 4.8 to as low as 4v way out of spec).

Anyways, what these power banks do is boost the voltage from 3.7v from the 2x 18650 Li-ion cells. The capacity is rated based on the battery capacity, not the capacity you will get out of the device. Because these devices boost 3.7v to 5v (or near 5v. 4.95v @ 500mA, 4.8v staring @ 1A), you will not get near full 5600mAh capacity out of these packs.

3.7v needs to increase to 5v. Assuming 100% boost efficiency, in order to provide 5v @ 500mA, the batteries would need to supply 675mA. The 3.7v is 74% of the needed 5v. So if the device was 100% efficient you'd expect to get 74% of the packs rated cell capacity which would be 4144mAh. In reality it provided 3450mAh, which represents ~83% circuit conversion efficiency. However, more than likely it is higher than that, considering cells rarely perform 100% at their rated capacity, and usually fall short by a few percent. Without taking the unit apart, I'd estimate circuit efficiency to be decent and around 86-90%. Overall decent 500mA performance.

Now the performance at 1A was another story. The device regulated fairly well for the first ~1.2Ah at 4.80v. Then after that it dropped out of regulation and gradually decreased from 4.8 to 4v before terminating. This performance is not acceptable and is way out of USB specifications.
