Product Description

This double shielded Dynaroll precision miniature ball bearing is made of 400-series hardened martensitic stainless steel and has an Annular Bearing Engineers’ Committee (ABEC)-5 precision rating, a flanged outer ring, and an extended inner ring. The single-row, deep-groove precision miniature ball bearing is suitable for limited-space applications requiring high accuracy, high speeds, and both axial and radial loads. The bearing has deep inner and outer races that conform to the balls that run in them, allowing higher speeds and creating lower friction than bearings with comparable-sized roller bearings. It has a metal shield on either side that is fastened to the outside ring and extends over the rolling elements. The shields assist in keeping out contaminants such as dirt and grime and also help to hold in lubricant applied during manufacturing. The inner and outer rings and balls are made of a 400-series martensitic stainless steel hardened to a minimum of C58 on the Rockwell hardness scale, providing better resistance to corrosion and high temperatures than American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) 52100 chrome steel, and higher hardness and wear resistance than plain stainless steel. This bearing has a stainless-steel cage to prevent the balls from coming into contact with each other during use, reducing friction, vibration, and noise. It also has an external flange on the outer ring for easier mounting and axial positioning in the housing than straight bearings, and an extended inner ring to improve shaft support and eliminate the need for additional location spacers. It can be used to a maximum operating temperature of 121 degrees C/250 degrees F. The ball bearing has a CN (normal) radial internal clearance designation, making it suitable for applications where the load and speeds do not result in thermal expansion. This clearance provides latitude for self-realignment and compensates for static and dynamic alignment errors. This bearing has an ABEC-5 rating for a higher standard of precision than ABEC-3 bearings. ABEC-rated ball bearings are manufactured to tight dimensional tolerances, making them useful in applications that require high accuracy, high rotational speeds, and increased operating efficiency. This ball bearing is for use in commercial and industrial applications including medical devices, radio controls, gearboxes, instrumentation, fishing reels, and small motors.

Rolling bearings use rolling elements to maintain the separation between moving parts to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads. These elements can be one of the following types: ball, cylindrical, spherical, barrel, needle, spindle, or tapered. All rolling bearings are open, shielded, or sealed. Sealed bearings are lubricated with oil or grease in the bearing factory, while open and shielded bearings are meant to be lubricated in place, with periodic reapplication of lubrication, based on use. The shield protects the working parts of the bearing from environmental debris that may be introduced and could reduce the ball bearing speed and lifespan. Rolling bearings are used in a range of applications from agricultural machinery to conveying equipment, robotics, dental equipment, elevators, rolling mills, ship rudder shafts, and aggregate crushers, among others.
