I made the mistake of having a coworker pick me up a router "while they were out". Gihugic mistake. In my experience - This thing is a hunk of junk with crummy support.

The router stops forwarding packets at least twice a day, requiring at least a reboot from the interface, at most a power cycle.

Contacting Dynex is an exercise in futility. Have a look at their site before you consider this unit: No firmware updates, no email support (strictly phone). When I phone them, they want me to reboot the router. Ok - reboot the router, it's working (duh. We've already established that) again for the moment - they say their brief good-byes and consider the "solution" acceptable. [Grrr!]

I have very little port forwarding (just two ports) and traffic is moderately low. Firewalling is disabled. So the load on the router is certainly not to blame.

Upshot? Junk. I guess I'll pick my own router next time. Live and learn. ;-)

I would not buy this item. I set it up and it would not work at all. I even switched ethernet cables in case one was bad but it still wouldn't work. Save your money and buy something that works great! Always check reviews.

This router was dead on arrival right out of the box. It won't even power on. I am promptly returning it and going to go for a more popular brand. I tried this one to save money but I guess you get what you pay for.

For the price, this is a great product. Have never had any problems with it, and for under $10 it has been an amazing purchase. Has held up to almost a year in a college dorm, and it still runs great. Never drops connections or overheats. Update- November 2011 it still works like brand new! Never goes down, and has survived several years of use and abuse.

This router sucks. I have to set up a new network almost every time I use it. There is no support for this product. I wish I had bought anything else.

I don't like a wireless router even it's the mainstream now. Connections get messed up very easily from heavy using internet at home. At the store, ethernet routers are now very expensive, so I got this item here. I thought it would take more than 5 mins to set this up but it took a min to set it up. Very easy for even a beginner internet user. I recommend +++++.

I was blaming my modem for my connection problems but figured out it was actually this stupid router. Quit altogether a few days after that. Basically makes a nice paperweight.

This router is one of the best I've ever used,just plug your computers to the back of the router and your ready to go. So simple to install that anyone even without experience can hook it up and surf away on all your computers! Thanks for such a great product!

I had a Linksys WRT100 router that was failing more and more often. So I ended up buying one of these, because of the price..., I have three computers networked and I was getting no connections and IP conflicts right from the start. Should have read reviews.
