I bought a Dyson DC07 for my wife 3 years ago. It was expensive and not worth it. The beater bar does not pull up the carpet as well as my Sears Kenmore (cost $89). I purchased the after market bar and it does seem better. I would advise anyone looking at a Dyson to shop around - there are better vacuums
