Dyson Aftermarket DC07 Internal Hose

Great price...I thought. The grey plastic fitting that comes with this hose is slightly smaller in diameter, and made of a less-flexible plastic. These two differences, are quite enough to, make it impossible to attach this fitting to the body of the vacuum. Thankfully, I did not throw away my old hose before this new one arrived. I am good at fixing new things that do not work right, but it is disappointing. I was able to swap the new fitting with the old one, and all was well. Now, I am left wondering if eight bucks was really a good deal for a six inch length if hose. Perhaps it is, I did not shop around for plain hose. If you do get this, keep your old hose; you will need the grey fitting!

I was concerned about purchasing this replacement part for my Dyson after reading some reviewers had problems getting it installed. I warned my husband in advance, but one evening I walked into his work area to see my Dyson, just about put together. He said the hose installation was "not a problem," but that he got the one end over the "first bump/hump" only--not the second one--which he felt was unnecessary. He's experienced in repair work in general just to be clear and so I'm happily vacuuming again.

I also purchased the Dyson DC07/DC14 Clutch Assembly #900252-04 - Genuinepart and that went without a hitch too. I just wish Dyson would stop using that junky, brittle plastic -- at least on the critical parts.

After reading the complaints relating to actually replacing this hose, I simply placed it in a sink of hot water for three minutes and then quite easily installed it in seconds. The cost savings was about half compared to the Dyson parts site. I'm happy.

What I needed, delivered right away. Amazon wants at least 20 words, but I'm not sure how much more you can say about this essential little hose. It's plastic with a wire spiraling around the outside. Dyson did a good design job. The outer support wire acts like a screw to connect to the plastic parts. pretty cool.

I was hesitant on purchasing this hose from the somewhat negative reviews of how difficult it was to get the stiff rubber end to properly fit on the vacuum cleaner base. The rubber end is stiffer than the factory original. Warm it up a bit with a hair dryer does the trick in softening it up so that it pops on better. At 1/4 the cost from Dyson's parts website. This is a great deal!

The hard plastic end goes right on but the other end had to be stretched and "screwed on". The new plastic was very hard to get to fit over the opening. I ended up soaking the end in very hot water and using a hair dryer to keep the plastic soft while I stretched it and screwed it on. The hose frame wire wants to break out of the plastic so be careful. Because of this, it was much harder to install than I thought it would be.

The last time I ordered parts direct from Dyson it took 2 months for them to be delivered. I received my aftermarket replacement hose in less than a week and it has performed perfectly.
