4.0 out of 5 stars Great price and speedy shipping
This is the product I needed at the price I was willing to pay. It was 10$ cheaper than the "genuine" Dyson product and it works just as well. It shipped quickly and fit easily onto the Dyson. I had the old hose off and the new one on in less than a minute.

1.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for - not worth the money
I read the other people's reviews, the complaints about the size of the tube, the loose plastic clip, etc... and I thought, "It can't be that bad. Plus it's almost 50 dollars less than the Dyson hose, so it has to be worth it."

Well, I was wrong. And the others were right. I had to fight just to get the wand to slide down the tube. Then I had to force the handle clip down to lock in place. Now it is on the vacuum, but I am hesitant to try and use the hand attachment because I don't want to have to fight to put it back together.
My advice is: don't look at spending 50 dollars more with Dyson as a waste - look at it as a guarantee that you will get a hose that fits properly. Don't buy this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars not equal to OEM, but good enough, April 9, 2009

Good replacement hose. Took all of about 20 seconds to swap out.

Like the other reviewer noted, this replacement hose detaches from the metal wand far too easily. You'll get used to it, though, just like you got used to using the handle and not picking up the DC-14 by the wand and having the latch release so you could watch it tumble down the stairs. You'll learn to hold the wand in a different place and you won't think about it again.

The hose material (do I want to say "webbing"?) inbetween the metal ribs of the hose does look thinner than OEM. At first I thought maybe it was just more translucent, or I was used to my old dirty one; but it tends to sag more than the OEM hose; sometimes I have to help it a little bit as I slide the wand back down.

To me, this is a fine replacement hose. Despite what I pointed out above, I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. But if you're picky or expect things to be exactly 100% the same as OEM, you're best off going and paying Mr. Dyson full price for his.

SHIPPING: There was the unwrapped hose and my invoice in the box - nothing else. I liked that there was only the box to throw away and no additional packaging/waste... good for the earth and all... but it did strike me as odd. I guess the seller gets them in bulk or something.

3.0 out of 5 stars Non-OEM Dyson hose, March 21, 2009

I actually like this hose better than the OEM hose from Dyson, with one exception. While the latch to remove the hose from the metal shaft of the wand is ridiculously hard to release on the OEM hose, this replacement alternative is a tad too weak. The hose can release when you don't really want it to do so. At half the price of the OEM though, I would still go for this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS HOSE!!!!!, January 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dyson Aftermarket DC07 All Floors Hose Silver/Yellow #904125-14 (Kitchen)
When my original hose broke, I used duct tape to make it work until I got a new one (that was mistake number 1). When I received the new hose, I removed the broken hose from the wand, and the old hose ripped and the plastic got stuck up in the wand. SO, now I had a new hose with a broken wand. I was frustrated and was NOT going to buy anything else at that moment. I finally decided to buy a new wand (from Dyson). It just arrived and I was soooo excited to have a good wand and a good hose. Well, the Dyson wand does not fit into the hose. I used a little bit of Pam to slide it in. And the hose is too long. I cannot snap the wand onto the vacuum. And I am afraid that if I use all of my weight and shove the wand into the hose onto the vacuum, the hose will get stuck in the wand and I will have to buy another wand! Unfortunately, since I bought the hose a couple of months ago, I am sure that the return policy is null and void! I might check since I have nothing to lose!

So, basically, I have just gone to the Dyson website and bought a Dyson hose for $46.94 that is for shipping as well.

Spend the extra money and buy a real Dyson hose from the Dyson website!!!!!!!!

BTW...I have a generic dyson hose for sale. You can let your kids play tug o war with it. Or attach a can to each end and pretend it's telephone. Tape it to the back of your pants and pretend like you have a long stretchy tail....the fun is limitless!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dyson after market hose, March 6, 2010
This review is from: Dyson Aftermarket DC07 All Floors Hose Silver/Yellow #904125-14 (Kitchen)
The yellow connector part that clicks into the base of the vacuum doesn't fit quite right. It's not a snug fit and tends to come out at the slightest tug. I would recommend purchasing the Dyson replacement from them. You have to have the serial number for your vacuum, but would be well worth spending the extra $15 to ensure it will last.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does Not Fit, March 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dyson Aftermarket DC07 All Floors Hose Silver/Yellow #904125-14 (Kitchen)
I received this product yesterday and connected it to the vacuum, then slid the hand tube through the connector. Unfortunately that is as far as it got. The inside diameter of the flex hose was not large enough to slide the tube in. This is not a question of incorrect part number or user error - this tube was not going in without a lot of force.
I will return this one and not purchase another.

This hose binds on the tube that slides into it for upright mode, making it a chore to use. However, we didn't have to worry about that for long because the fitting at the attachment end fell off after 5-6 weeks of use.

This certianly does not work as well as the origional Dyson part. The hose is pretty stiff and you really have to work to get it back where it belongs. Also the place where it attaches at the bottom frequenly comes loose when you pull out the hose. The origional one never did that once. If buy this you have to decide is saving $$ is worth the aggrivation.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this hose, December 13, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dyson Aftermarket DC07 All Floors Hose Silver/Yellow #904125-14 (Kitchen)
Don't buy it. It simply does not fit. It won't slide on the metal wand and then it won't come off no matter how hard you try. It broke trying to get it off. Also, the photo shown isn't the item you get. The photo on the page is the real hose but this company sends a cheap imitation with weaker plastic and it's not even the right color of yellow. Bait and Switch scam. Spend the extra $10 for the real thing.
