Dyson Dc07 Aftermarket Vacuum Hose, Purple

I was hoping that this hose would last longer than the Dyson original manufacturer part. I get at least 7-8 months out of the Dyson hose before it starts to tear at the top end. This hose did not make it two months before tearing at the top.

This hose material is thinner than the original part. It is also not made as well with cheaper attachment parts. If you do not use the floor attachment much and just use the vacuum by itself than this piece could work. I use the floor piece every time, so this is not an option for myself.

You can buy the original hose from Dyson directly for $39.99. It ends up being cheaper because it lasts longer.

I have 3 dogs - 2 of them are Aussies- and 2 kids who don't care what they track into the house. I vacuum just about every day. I love my Dyson and was really upset when the webbing on the hose pulled away from the rings and tore open. I considered buying a new Dyson (my husband was not please about that). Instead I went online and easily found the part I needed on Amazon. This part was delievered within days and it was so easy to install. This hose actually seems nicer than the original.

For the price I figured I would give it a shot despite the mixed reviews. I found that other then the color being a bit off (darker purple then my vacuum) the hose was almost identical to the original and even with the darker color it still looks far better then the duct tape which I need to apply to the old hose so my vacuum would still work. this replacement hose fit well, the tube slid down the hose perfectly, and I thought its build quality was the same as the original Dyson part. Will it hold up over time? Well I got a new hose because the Dyson one crapped out very early in the vacuums life so Dyson didn't exactly set the bar to high. Possible it will last only as long as the Dyson one did, but at 40% the price of the Dyson part I guess that will be an improvement. If it goes longer, all the better.

Update: It has made it a year now with no issues. If is breaks it will have lasted about as long as the original Dyson one and I would order this model again vs. the factory part.

I purchased this for my Dyson DC07 Full Kit (turquoise and purple) that I purchased at Costco hoping to save a little money over the factory part. Unfortunately, this part didn't fit. The hose was a little too snug so it wouldn't fit over the metal wand.

Product arrived quickly and was exactly as pictured by vendor. Very pleased with their service,and i would order from this vendor again.

I got this hose for my purple DC07 animal. I've been using it for just a few days so far in the midst of a big cleaning frenzy. It attached at the bottom of the vacuum just fine and fit well. It is a bit stiff but I am hoping that it will get a bit more flexible as I use it. The hard part is sliding it up and down the wand and getting it off the handle side of the want when I am using the wand with attachments. There are two little plastic buttons that I need to squeeze to get it to release the wand and its something that is VERY stiff. I kill my fingers trying to get it off. I see some reviewers complaining that it pops off too easily (it popped off just once for me). Now I have to strategize my cleaning more and leave the want attachment for VERY last which I can't always remember to do. I am a bit disappointied but maybe its just stiff and needs some breaking it.

In general quality (except noted below) is about equal to genuine Dyson part (which comes in gray only). Two glaring issues may influence your decision however.

First, as mentioned by several other reviewers, the bottom connection will not hold. The catch appears to be molded wrong. I thought I could adapt this to stay in better. I might have, but second problem was the deal killer.

The hose is shorter than the original, by somewhere between one and two feet. This presents a problem for me when cleaning my carpeted stairs. Old hose reached to top of steps with vacuum on floor at bottom. New hose will not reach top steps. So if you have critical distance issue as I do, pass this one by. If not, you just might order it and hope you get a proper fitting lower connection (as apparently some have). If not, just return it.

So far so good! Easy to install and is actually nicer than the original. Shipping was a little slow but all in all, good purchase.

This replacement vacuum hose is absolute garbage. I installed it on my Dyson and within 10 minutes it fell apart. What a waste of time. Do not buy this product.

I am very disappointed in this product. I read about it and knew that the color purple would be a different shade than the actual vacuum unit, and it is off but I'm ok with this.

What I didn't read is how hard the unit is to use. Anyone that has a Dyson Animal knows that you have to take the hose out of the handle almost every time you use the vacuum. The factory hose is very easy to take off the handle. The factory unit has a "lock" button that is easy to push. The knock off has two white prongs that stick out the side that need to be pushed down to get it to come off the hose. I am a healthy 29 year old woman who had to use ALL of her strength to push these prongs down and it was hard!! I really regret not spending the extra money to buy a factory replacement.
