I had initially ordered this product based on the picture because my present filter looks exactly like it but when the actual filter arrived it was the wrong one. It did not have the (6 and the tap)on it like the picture, it was white and much larger. However I returned it and made sure to place my next order based on my vacuum's product number. Eventually the correct filter was mailed to me, Filter Part #911685-01. Filter #911685-01 is exactly like the picture, therefore I wish that they would put the correct picture for corresponding filter because that picture DOES NOT accurately represent Filter Part #911236-01.

This is not an official Dyson filter therefore it doesn't fit the chamber. We had to force it to close and then when we did get it closed it barely worked. I regret trying to go cheap, buy the real one. It's worth it.

It's a shame that Dyson doesn't include a spare filter with the purchase of a vacuum. The filter is washable but who realizes their filter needs washed until they are using the vacuum. Since you have to allow ample time for the filter to dry you really need to have 2 filters. A new, clean filter allows your machine to vacuum just like new.

The filter fits my vacuum but seems to be made of a slightly different material than the Dyson brand. It seems to be working well, so overall I am pleased with the product.

I used this filter a couple times and my carpet smells better. I have 3 dogs so get a new filter every year and it makes a huge difference. I clean the filters regularly and replace them. Just seems to work better for me.

For the first time ever I didn't read the reviews and simply purchased. When I ordered this item last week, the picture was of a genuine Dyson pre-filter and it said by Dyson for who was selling it. What came was a generic pre filter from another company. I returned it due to wanting a genuine Dyson part. I am happy to see the picture posted this week is of the generic item and who is selling it is now correctly listed. Now people can make the informed decision about buying a generic instead of feeling hoodwinked.

Fits my dyson vaccum (I have the dyson animal) perfectly. Cheapest price I have found. I would recommend buying this filter.

Not a real dyson product, Does NOT fit. This picture is NOT what I recieved. They show the official dyson filter, however, a genaric "EnviroCare Technologies" filter designed to "fit" the dyson, is what I recieved. I decided to try it anyway, because I figured it would probably work the same. But, IT DOES NOT FIT! The rubber seal is too thick, and you can not close the filter lid. I tried jamming it down, and finally got it to click, but then the sides had gaps that let air in. I will be returning this item since it's not even what I ordered, and it doesn't even work.

I have the Dyson DC17 animal vacuum. As stated in the last review, this filter is slightly taller and makes it so you can not shut the filter cover. It is not a genuine dyson filter, I received a generic enviro care filter. It would appear that this is falsly advertised as a genuine dyson filter, but that is not what you will get. I will be returning mine.

The listing implies you will receive a GENUINE Dyson Part No. 911236-01, but what was received was an EnviroCare Technologies Odor Neutralizing HEPA Filter with Activated Charcoal #974. Though the packaging states it's designed to fit the Dyson DC17, I found that the rubber flange around the filter is slightly taller and very inflexible - leaving you unable to snap closed the filter compartment. I DO NOT recommend this item, and am shipping it back immediately.
