5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Resource-Lots of actionable information March 14, 2013
By Donna
Format:Kindle Edition
Danielle's book is short enough to ready quickly for those of us who are busy entrepreneurs, but yet chock full of ideas and resources. As a client of Danielle's (she designed version 2.0 of our website, [....]) I learned more great tips from her book and am eager to try them all out. While the book is aimed at ecommerce clients, some of the tips are equally useful for those who have a blog or noncommerce website.

5.0 out of 5 stars Little Gem of a Book-- Very helpful. September 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This little book is a wealth of information and I highly recommend it. For the small e-commerce business owner who cannot afford to hire a professional she tells you what to do.

I got 20 ideas that would have paid for the book 10 times over if I hadn't gotten free with my Amazon Prime. A++++++++ Thanks Danielle.

P.S. I also wish that Amazon would delete that one star review which has nothing to do with the book--very unfair to the author who has put out an excellent guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear, concise, full of great advice June 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Most books on this subject are written in complicated tech-speak or gloss over the things that a budding e-trepreneur really needs to know to get started or to make your already existing website run like it should. Wish I had this when I first started. The author provides lots of practical advice and I'll be using this as my reference book as I develop my site and communicate with my web designer and platform provider. I had contacted Bigcommerce (I thought it was called Bid-Commerce until they corrected me) and they recommended this book and its author, Danielle Mead. They spoke so highly of her I was a little skeptical. The author was the marketing director of the successful site among other e-businesses and responded immediately to an email I sent to an address provided at the end of the book. Clearly, the book was written by someone with practical experience.

I'm in the process of moving over to BigCommerce as we speak and my web-designer and I are communicating better, and I'm feeling more confident and less stressed out about launching. Being a business owner can be scary but with this E-book and its invaluable info I'm actually having fun and I no longer fear expanding and updating my site. I've asked my designer to include many of the features recommended in this book and I understand a little more about her process. The book was written in a way that answered my questions in the order I would have asked them. It really is e-commerce for everyone.

More About the Author

Danielle Mead was born in McLean, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. After graduating from Vassar College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and a Women's Studies minor, she drove cross-country to Los Angeles, CA to pursue a career in the music industry.

With the record labels in turmoil, she ended up working at the e-commerce company, where she managed the official online stores for large entertainment properties including MTV, Comedy Central, The Simpsons, Frank Sinatra and Alanis Morissette, among others. When the company folded, she moved to, where she spent five years managing online marketing campaigns, deciphering web analytics and overseeing the website's usability and customer experience.

After relocated to St. Louis, Mead struck out on her own as an online marketing and e-commerce consultant for retail companies including Shiekh Shoes and Modern Bathroom. In 2011, she founded Duck Soup E-Commerce, a boutique e-commerce firm specializing in helping small and medium sized businesses create beautiful and usable online stores with the Bigcommerce hosted platform.
