This book is a thorough overview of Captivate 5.5. It offers thoughtful tips in an easy-to-learn format. I bought the book specifically to learn more about creating software simulation tutorials and was very pleased with the level of in-depth information.

As an eLearning specialist I've utilized multiple resources for this type of skill training. This text rates right there with my favorites. I LOVE the "just the facts" format of this text: it's condensed yet chalk-full of detailed information that can make the difference between being clueless and getting the job done. The format is also a winner: along with section instructions there are "Design Tip(s)", "Bright Idea(s)", "Time Saver(s)" and "Caution(s)" buffeted by screen shots galore. If I had to offer a critique, it would be that the layout is just a bit too busy -- but I tend to bypass that issue 'cause I'm busy diving into the content!

The E-Learning Uncovered: Captivate 5.5 is a very good reference book for a beginner with Captivate - which I am. The book is written in a basic way and does not lose you other than the fact, I'm just learning Captivate and have to reread and search every page regarding my questions. Good purchase - recommend it!

Since I don't use Captivate on a daily basis, I use this book to get me back on track. This book is excellent for beginners who want an overview of the various functions. With the basics, any user can intuit advanced uses.

Anyone that's used Adobe's help facility knows how valuable a good reference is for their products. This book is easy to read and easy to use -an unusual combination for references of this type.

I ordered E-Learning Uncovered: Adobe Captivate 5.5 (paperback) about a week ago and received it in just a couple of days. Just a quick note I have been using Captivate since version 3.

The first part of the book was old news to me, but like I said I have been using it for a long time. Now the second part of the book gave some new ideas and showed me some things that I didn't know about Captivate.

I will say the book is written very well for the most part, but some of the things that I was looking for were not in the book. I was looking for some of the more advance capabilities of Captivate, and the book gave me some just didn't go into depth on some.

I would recommend this book for any one with some knowledge of Captivate.
I'm going to give this book a 4 star because some of the page has smeared ink on the pages, but that's not the fault of the writer's that's the printing press fault.

It took an inordinate amount of time to receive book. Got an email that it would arrive between a specific date range, yet it arrived nearly a week after end of range given. Disappointing...

It starts from the beginning and doesn't assume you have used Captivate before. This was very helpful! I really liked the added tips, etc.

This is very well-written with excellent tips and tricks. Of course, you're probably onto Captivate 8 by now...
