Crystal White shampoo is the best whitening shampoo in the world. If it doesn't work for you, then you are doing something wrong. Read the directions. If that doesn't work, try following them. I have found that using an inexpensive 8 oz. plastic bottle with ounce markings on it works great for diluting the product accurately. You can find them at beauty supply stores.

I've used Crystal White shampoo on my Persian cats for years: black smoke, cameo, white, and silver and it works on them all. It is safe for all colors of coats. I usually shampoo the coat first with a normal shampoo to remove oils and surface yuck then use Crystal White shampoo. I put my cats in a carrier and let them soak for a full 10 minutes; then rinse.

Follow the directions: Crystal White shampoo must be properly DILUTED, then HEATED, then left to soak on your pet to work.

I know several people who have used it and said it didn't work but when asked if they diluted it and warmed it before applying to their pet, they all said "no." Big surprise! It doesn't work if you don't use it properly! READ THE DIRECTIONS they are very clear.

This product is enzyme activated. Enzymes eat proteins which is what cause yellowing. It will not bleach hair - it will only remove the yellowed proteins which is why it can be used on all colors of hair. For severely discolored coats it may take more than one application. Again, follow the directions and it will work.

DO NOT heat in a microwave as some people may suggest - it can get too hot and burn your pet. Follow the label's directions by using the warmest water your pet can safely tolerate. It does not have to be scalding hot - just warmed enough to activate the enzymes. Test the temperature on your skin to see if it is too hot; if so, let it cool for a few minutes before applying to your pet. Use common sense.

This shampoo takes a while to work. Don't be surprised if you don't have a snowy white dog the first time around. I used it on my white toy poodle and he still has some staining after the 5th bath. (After following directions exactly for each bath)
The staining on his fur does look better - but I think a few of the people writing reviews on this product are over exaggerating a bit if they tell you it's perfect thing for whiting your dog. Let's just say it helps... but it's not a miracle worker!

I used this on my cats before taking them to their first cat show. I heated it first, and the result was great. My cats never looked better. I would definitely recommend this to anyone else.

My vet actually recommended this shampoo because I have a white dog and this shampoo actually gets the beard white and helps keep my dog white. It works great and I highly recommend.

Product did not work on the rusty colored stains on my dog. In all fairness, I don't think anything will. These stains are a mystery....they are on the back of his neck, so they are not saliva stains. It happened all of a sudden, and thought this shampoo would do the trick. I applied every day for 2 weeks strictly following the directions and saw no improvement.

This is the shampoo recommended to me by the breeder (and world class dog handler) of my 4 month old Sealyham terrier. She told me that this shampoo is pretty good even if you don't heat it to get the enzyme activity. I dilute it and heat it in the microwave (not to boiling, that would probably kill the enzymes) and then let it cool enough not to hurt the puppy. On especially bad areas (beard) I follow the instructions on the bottle which say to apply it full strength to bad stains after heating. I wait the required length of time. The puppy cries boo hoo while we wait (little drama queen), we rinse, and when she is dry she practically glows in the dark she is so white. Note that this does NOT mean that every single stain is gone - although if you shampoo her with this a few days in a row, stains keep getting fainter. The point is that this shampoo makes her white fur whiter than other shampoos (I have some others because this stuff is expensive to use every time a puppy gets poopy). Don't expect your dog to look like a perfectly white stuffed animal whose feet never touch the ground after using this - but do expect to be impressed.

My white Maltese/Pekingnese dog developed a tanish stripe along his back. Since using this product the stripe is turning white again. This product also seems to kill fleas also.

This was the only shampoo that got the stains off our white french bulldog. Shipping was free, and it arrived sooner than expected.

I'll buy the larger size next time.
