The SSL E12D came sooner than expected. I have to admit. I hesitated when I first felt the weight of the subwoofer. It was very lightweight, but apparently that does not matter anymore with todays technology.

From my experience over the years with car audio electronics, sometimes certain brands of subwoofers and speakers have a break in period. The SSL E12D is one of them. It was very tight in the beginning. So I put it through my normal 20 hour breakin period for subwoofers. I must say, it sounds beautiful. The is no distortion from the cone and the bass response is outstanding.

Definite buy for me. SoundStorm is a good middle grade brand.

I don't know where people say these subs are not good.I have 2 of these hooked up in a sealed box.I am pushing them with a 1600w D class amp.OK,they ain't your 400$ subs.But I killed a set of alpine E's and a set of JLw3 with this amp is a bad boy amp. So I got these just to see whats up with them(1500w/750rms).Put them on a smaller Rockford 500/1 to break them in. If you know about amps you know Rockford 500/1 has some power and these subs took it all. So I was like well lets see with my 1600w.They are taking it.And are slamming very impressed.for the money you can not go wrong with these subs.....hope this helps you.

i hooked these up to a 2000 watt power acoustic mono block amp. sealed box & wired just like instructions said. they sounded good for 10 minutes then just quit, no sound no nothing. Junk subs is all i can say

using a SSL 1200w monblock to power 2 of these. they let me know where every loose bolt on my car is, they shake it so much lol. the vibrations woke my nextdoor neighbor when i turned them on for the first time. can't wait to hear them after they've loosened up a bit.

they're also amazing for just puting music through them on high pass (how ive been using them), not just base, cause it comes with a high an low pass filter. and the remote bass control is a very niffty thing to have. glad i hooked it up.

Hook it up and it started smoking blowed out a hour later on about volume on 15 it blew out. SPEAKERS NO GOOD!!!!

I TRASH IT MY BROTHER SAID SPEAKERS YOU'LL DONT WARRANTY SO I THRASH IT.

I got 2 of these to replace a pair of 500w SSL subs, running on a 650W rms amp. When I first got them they didn't sound any better than the low profile subs I replaced, but after about 15 hrs worth of use they sound twice as good and hit maybe 25% harder (on the same amp). Now that I've broken them in I Have yet to hook them up to a 1500w rms amp but I imagine they should take it all.

I ordered two of these. COupled with a 3000 watt 2 channel amp. The first one out of the box did not work, the other did. Shipped it back to amazon, they sent me another. IT worked for about 2 weeks, now it sounds like one of the old fabric subwoofers that has a rip in it. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch or what. One of the Subs works fine and hasn't had a problem yet. If you get these, i wouldn't go over 2200 watts for a pair or they might blow out. I'm not real happy with them, but i expected more out of them.

i blew these subs the same day they were installed.and i had them done professionally.so if you want to blow subs out the fastest way possible than i suggest these.if you value your music stay as far away as possible from these.

i guess i cant complain too much for the price but i already over heated and over powered this sub with my 600 watt pioneer amp an old model by the way and it lasted maybe 10 hours. basically you get what you pay for not bad if you want a little thump but not so much for a real thud

If you are thinking about getting this product don't waste your hard earned money its crap I didn't have them in my car for not even 5 minutes before I smelled smoke and they blowed up now I'm out of money
