4.0 out of 5 stars Fast card in the day, November 9, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ASUS EAH4850 Graphics Card (ATI Radeon HD 4850 Chipset, Directx 10, 2nd Generation 55NM GPU Solution, 512MB) (Personal Computers)
I bought a set of these cards to use in CrossfireX based on [...] recommending these cards as the best all around bang for the dollar. They were strong enough to push my games in 1920x1080 with some reduced quality or 1600x1050 with everything turned on.

I don't know why, but these cards would not overclock one bit, not even 5mhz and my computer would instantly show a BSOD. These are quite cards that do run very hot those. I found that I had to turn up the fan a little to keep the card cooler.

Over all now that the 5870 is out, you should be able to get these very cheap and they still provide a great bang for the dollar. They even out do the 5750 if you have them in Crossfire. you should be able to find these at about $100 a card here (as of 11/10/2009), so 200 for awesome performance is the way to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Midrange Card, August 26, 2010
This review is from: ASUS EAH4850 Graphics Card (ATI Radeon HD 4850 Chipset, Directx 10, 2nd Generation 55NM GPU Solution, 512MB) (Personal Computers)
This card is fantastic I get to play almost every game i want to at max settings. You can play WoW, TF2, Borderlands, Fallout 3, and more games offered through steam with max settings pretty much. If you aren't looking for the latest and greatest which you shouldn't unless you are insanely rich a midrange card like this 4850 is perfect! It's small and powerful. It does get quite hot when in use but if you have a case with good airflow which most cases do you are fine. This card has some overclockability but not enough to give you a huge boost but if you want it it's there. So, if you're looking a great card that can play almost any game past, current, and future the 4850 with respectful fps this is for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Says dual display capable, May 17, 2011
This review is from: ASUS EAH4850 Graphics Card (ATI Radeon HD 4850 Chipset, Directx 10, 2nd Generation 55NM GPU Solution, 512MB) (Personal Computers)
I don't get it. Watch a movie in Itunes on a second display and I get hardware failure after a year. Long term I guess it can't handle the load on a Vista 64 bit system with 12gb of RAM. I stepped it up to a new GTX that hums along with no problem but at triple the price but half the temperature.
