I'm not a tech guy. Just a guy with a computer. I'm running an HP Slimline in a hot, dusty environment. I've gone through three NVidia GeForce 210's. The fan-bearings failed in all three in a matter of months, causing the cards to overheat and fail.

I then tried two EVGA Passive (fanless) 210's. Both failed within 45 minutes.

I've been running HD video through this 5450 for over 24 hours straight now with no problems at all. I think I've finally got a winner. And if I don't, I'll update it here.

Card works perfect for htpc build. Ran into a little problem though, installed card then got newest driver from Amd, that was the mistake. It would constantly blue screen so I just let windows install the Asus driver and voila card works perfect.

Ok so I got this and on the first day of use it tried to kill its self on heat and my TF2 game at low spec was terrible and at its lowest rate on idle with nothing running was sitting around 83 degrees and in game it pushed over 100 on low spec, I would strongly not recommend this product to any one unless I wanted to give them hell the graphics card is god awful and overheats constantly even on idle which led me to worry it is terrible I have installed all requirements and iv even removed them and reinstalled the drivers and still the same result. I sadly had to give it a rating Amazon would not accept a 0 star sadly as that is being nice to the graphics card as it is this bad.

this video card was installed in a dell 8400 desktop, worked great for about a week and then started flashing from the screen to a black screen. I switched back to my old card and had no issues, just to make sure it was in fact the video card. I guess you get what you pay for, retuned for a refund!!

This card works well, plug in and load the driver, and it works.

The problem is with the application come with the CD, it forces you to load it as a startup item and it takes resources to load this every time you boot your windows, it slows down your system.

The other thing I really don't like is it somehow disables my analog audio, if you have sound play through your speaker, it will not work, and it really turns your PC into a silent machine ( you can Google web for this, you will find I am not the only one complaints about this).

All in all, this is a "my way or the highway" mentality from a software implementation point of view, users do not have their say, big brother will figure out all for you, whether this is a good or bad approach, it is really debatable.

Giving the card works, but my PC is silenced, I will give it a three stars.

Follow up ***

I finally make my audio working, basically, you need to re-install your audio codec, I suspected this as I started the system with no sound, but the trick here is the video card install the AMD catalyst application and HDMI driver for you, you need to go to the controll panel to disable this first. After the second install of the driver from Realtek (manufacturer of the codec chip), the sound appears to be working.

After i baught this card i was excited to get a working machine for my neice.

Everything in the system was tested working.

However, after using this card for a few hours it light brightly with a spark and burnt itself out.

I was dissapointed but i still had faith that ASUS would RMA it. However i was sorely mistaken. ASUS refused to accept the card since they claim it could not be the problem in the system.

I was shocked since one would believe that something bursting in flames would be a sure sign that it was deffective.

Asus claimed that the PSU must have been the problem and still refuse to take it back.

N.B. I have confirmed that everything else in the system works and upon purchasing a Gigabyte video card the system is working fine.

SHAME ON ASUS!

I got this for my Acer slimline computer because my original graphics card fried. I think that slimline desktop computers are notorious for overheating and frying parts. Anyway, this performs good enough for me to play Skyrim and it is still working great after more than a year. Not to mention it looks kind of cool. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a step above integrated graphics. However this is still a low-end graphics card so don't expect to be able to run the highest settings on the most demanding games. However, Skyrim on medium settings works fine on my Pentium Processor 4GB ram low-end Acer computer.

I must have gotten a bad card. I swaped it with my current card (which still works, but has a noisy fan). The system never showed anything on the display. I think the system booted as the disk activity light flashed quite a bit, but I could never tell where it was at in the process. Never got any beeps of any kind. Put the old card back in and the system was fine. SO, back it goes. At least Amazon makes returns easy.
