Book Description

January 5, 2005
Anyone who believes that life is unfair has either mistaken Earth's drama for reality, or hasn't read EARTH Is the MOTHER of All Drama Queens. This daring and often-hilarious real life story unmasks the hidden reason some people don't seem to get what they deserve, and others don't deserve what they get. It's a profound and entertaining book, presenting startling evidence that Life is always fair; God is never far; death is not THE END-and absolutely nothing is unforgivable!

Editorial Reviews

Review

In a world of so much drama, Arnold offers hope by separating mythology from spirituality. -- Keith Boykin, author, Respecting the Soul

Pat Arnold forces readers to step out of the boxes of conventional thinking and gaze at new possibilities. -- John Shelby Spong, best-selling author, A New Christianity for a New World

Read--and change. Hold on for a wonderful, hilarious, and poignant ride. -- Patrice Gaines, author, Moments of Grace

From the Publisher

Not since former White House correspondent Ruth Montgomery released her timeless bestseller, A Search for the Truth, which chronicled her in-depth investigation of the spirit world, has another mainstream American journalist presented such dramatic evidence that physical life is but a shadow of reality. Pat Arnold's narrative voice is unparalleled in this genre--refreshing, comical, chummy, assuring, loving, and supportive--precisely what every reader will need as these powerful dramas unfold and reveal the unsettling Truth about the life we think we're living.

This review is from: EARTH Is the MOTHER of All Drama Queens (Paperback)
If the concept of karma is unknown to you, the idea that everything in the world is fair might make you balk. But put into the wider context of reincarnation, any action may well be the natural reaction to something you did in a previous life. So argues the author.

This is a wonderful, witty, warm-hearted memoir of Patricia Arnold's life, a lady who seems to move house on a regular basis: hey, we all have our hobbies. ;-) It is also an introduction to the concept of karma and forgiving ourselves and others for our trespasses - sound familiar?

Wondering where all the drama in her life has come from made her start asking deeper questions, and looking to the spiritual side of things. I find in this book a more open look at Christianity than I'm used to seeing, and a very important distinction: being christ-like is not the same as being Christian. I would have bought it for this insight alone.

I was already aware of many of the concepts in the book, but some were new to me, and the best part of it is that they are presented as a tale with humor and humanity, not in dry text-book fashion. The author states up-front that she's not expecting to convert you to anything; she's just relating her own experiences in case you can use them. I've already used some of the insights in my own life and found them helpful. You could read this as a feel-good book or as a learn-something book, or both. Or something else. I highly recommend it.

What made me buy this book? It was the introduction, where the author, a journalist at that time, refused an assignment to interview the newly bereaved parents of a little girl. I've always been furious with journalists who poke a microphone at family members who've received the worst possible news, and ask them how they feel. It was such a breath of fresh air to find someone who refused to do it. I'm glad I bought the book, because the rest of it has that same sense of respect and warmth.
