I also bought this trap based on the reviews of the Victor Tin Cat. It seems to be exact same product, just cheaper (I think you have to buy two traps when you purchase the Victor Tin Cat).

3.0 out of 5 stars Works most of the time
Caught six mice in a day and a half, but given enough time the mice can escape. Several times I set the traps overnight and in the morning found all the bait gone with no mice in the trap and the top still tightly closed. Probably best to check the trap every 3-4 hours if possible.

I also bought this trap based on the reviews of the Victor Tin Cat. It seems to be exact same product, just cheaper (I think you have to buy two traps when you purchase the Victor Tin Cat).

After setting the trap, we caught two baby mice within a few hours. I baited it with dog food, as I had seen a mouse run to my dog's food bowl. I put the dog food (hard) right by the vents on both sides and then in the middle of the two tunnels. Each mouse was caught separately, so we released on after the other. The mother is still at large.

The only down side is that unless you know where the mice are coming in from and can make provisions to block their entry, this trap is not a long-term solution. I live in an apartment building and I know that the mice are getting into my unit through the heating grates but I have no idea how they are getting into the building nor do I have the capability to stop them from entering the building. If you do not know where the mice are entering from, unfortunately, this trap will not get rid of the problem. Actually, I suppose no trap will work as a long term solution if you cannot find or cover up their entry point. All you can do is keep catching and releasing them and try to block any access to food in your home.

All in all, this trap is definitely humane and most certainly worth the money. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Works, April 24, 2008
I've had the little green house and it works except mice eat the catch and then you toss it. I have the tiny little grey ones with flip top. They work fairly well but very noisy at night with mouse inside so you have to get up. This Eaton one is the best so far. But, go to Eaton and buy it there - less shipping. Amazon charges a fortune to ship. Mice go in, stay in and it's quiet until you are ready to release. This one is a keeper.

I bought two of these traps based on the very positive reviews of the nearly identical Victor Tin Cat ($27 elsewhere on Amazon). I smeared some peanut butter inside the traps and placed one trap in an area of my basement workshop where I know there's been recent mouse activity, and placed the other trap in my attic, where I suspect mouse activity. I caught five mice overnight in the basement trap, and then moved the empty attic trap to the basement and caught another mouse during the day. Both traps are now baited and ready. Once I think I've caught all the basement mice, I'll seal up a known mouse entry point near the bulkhead entrance and see if the basement remains mouse free... The trap is ingenious and well made -- so much better than snap traps. Shipping cost from Ace Hardware for two traps was $7.35. So I got two of these traps for the price of one Victor Tin Cat.

5.0 out of 5 stars No fuss! No mess! Humane!, May 4, 2009
This review is from: J.T. EATON 421CL "REPEATER" MULTIPLE CATCH MOUSE TRAP (Kitchen)
Eaton J T #421CL Multip Catch Mouse Trap
I got it from acehardwareoutlet within a couple of days of sighting my first (and to date, only!)mouse.

The trap concept is simple: a metal box the size of the old-style video casette boxes; a small tunnel along one side with openings on either side at the short ends of the box that makes it look like a safe hidey hole for any mouse; two one-way flap doors in the tunnel so that the mouse can enter on either side but cannot leave, and a glass-topped holding / baiting area for the mouse. Nothing to fix, set or assemble. Just put it down and you're open for business!

In the holding area of the trap, I put in a graham cracker smothered with peanut butter and left it around where I had last seen my furry friend, went to the couch, sat down and started channel surfing on the TV. Less than five minutes later, I heard a clang as the one-way flap was activated. I couldn't believe it would work so fast, so I waited an extra few minutes and then curiosity got the better of me. Sure enough, there was the furry guy with a body just longer than my middle finger and a tail to match. He was calmly snacking.

I picked up the box and started to walk down the block to a vacant lot 100 yards away. My buddy was a bit upset at first and tried to hide, but in a few seconds he was back at the cracker, chowing down ... and he continued for the entire walk to his release point. In fact, he was so cool about it, that when I raised the glass top to let him go, he was still busy eating, and I had to tilt the box to give him the idea that freedom was at hand. Then an incredibly fast brown streak left the box, and he was gone. No fuss. No cruelty. Just dinner and a ride.

I have not seen another mouse since, but if there ever is one, I know that the box'll get it even if it cannot meet the five-minute test again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works! Bait it right., November 6, 2009

This review is from: J.T. EATON 421CL "REPEATER" MULTIPLE CATCH MOUSE TRAP (Kitchen)
We live in a wooded area and constantly fight a mouse battle in our house. We have used Tin Cat and have had great success with it. I can't count the number of mice we have caught with those. When I found the Eaton, it was a great improvement as it has the window-top and we no longer have to pick up the trap and peek through the holes to try to determine if we have mouse (or two or three) in the trap. I just now saw that Tin Cat is offering a window-top as well, but it is more expensive so this is a better value.

We completely believe in catch-and-release so this is a great trap to house up to multiple mice with relatively little stress for them compared to those that fit one mouse at a time (not to mention you can catch MULTIPLE MICE). In fact, it is easier to set it up so it can be attractive to mice. We put a bit of paper towel in the bottom, a small pile of bird food (seeds/nuts) on the paper towel, and a soda cap (or similar) of some water (they seem to be very attacted to water) and if we see the seeds disturbed when we look through the window, we know we have a mouse or more. What could be easier?

Very happy with this product. I just ordered more. The one negative is that I wish they would advocate humane practices (i.e. catch and release). They suggest less-than-humane ways of dealing with the trapped and I wish they would reconsider those suggestions.

Buy this and kiss your mouse problems good buy. I purchased two, one for my garage and one for my house. I was able to trap all the mice in my kitchen in 24 hours without issue. As for the garage, it seems that they had all left the area by the time I found this device. But you can believe that next spring the trap will be full.

This device is like a have a heart trap but in this case it can hold multiple critters and they can't eat their way through the plastic as with other devices. And the best part is it can hold a pile of mice! Just make sure you check it daily as mice tend to eat each other once the food runs out and you don't want to clean up that mess.

I've only had it one day but I've already caught a mouse. I was surprised that the top is just thin flexable plastic and not glass so I'll have to wait and see how that works out.
12-24-08 I've had it a month now and have caught 31 mice. One night I caught 5 at once. It's good at catching the small ones that can tap dance on regular traps.

I don't usually leave reviews but I have to this time. These traps are amazing. I had mice "sightings" on the first floor and in the basement. We have a cat and he spent hours hunting like it was his job. Unfortunately he only caught 2, so we bought two of these traps, one for each floor.
Well the first night I put them out we caught 7 mice...yeah that's right....7!
I was even more amazed when they caught several more the following day. this continued about every other day, each morning we found more mice hanging out in the traps. We ended up catching 14 mice total. Unbelievable! I had no idea.
We have a very nice, very clean middle class suburban house so I was shocked how many were living with us.
All we did was put a few potato chips and a Ritz cracker with a bit of peanut butter inside and the little guys took the bait every time. i left the traps around for a few more weeks just to make sure. Well we have been mouse free for over a month now!
I highly recommend these to anyone frustrated with mice but unwilling to kill them.

Easy to use and as effective as any of its kind. Best to use with bait, such as, for example, sunflower seeds, to ensure that your guests will be willing to enter their new quarters and will have a pleasant and comfortable stay free of cannibalism. If you plan to be away for more than a couple of days, it is advisable to provide a small water trough for your visitors, as death by dehydration is otherwise likely.
