This review is from: ECCO Men's Alaska Hiking Shoe (Apparel)
I have a previous experience with a leather Ecco hiking shoe that disappointed me as it took ages to break it in. It took two years for me to feel comfortable wearing it, but then it has served me well for another six years and it is still going strong (I wear it maybe ten times a year only).
This one is a different category of shoe though, bought by me just because the price was right. If you can get it for below eighty bucks, it is worth considering. It is a Gote-Tex shoe after all. My right little finger hurts a bit after a longer hike (in excess of 5 miles). No other boot has ever done this to me, but it is bearable (it does not bleed, to be more specific, and no blisters, just a bit of pain). Overall, not a bad shoe to wear for light hikes or into the town with jeans, especially when it is rainy. The orange color of my pair is something that I do not like, too bright, but at the price, I viewed it as a compromise. |
