Comfortable Shoe,
By
This review is from: ECCO Men's RXP 6040 Running Shoe (Apparel)
I just baught this shoe yesterday. I had never heard of this brand before, but the saleman at Dillards talked me into trying them on. The fit was awesome. The toe of this shoe has plenty of room in width, which is important if you have a wider foot. The insole has plenty of give and is comfortable for all day use. I haven't run in them yet, but am looking forward to trying them out. The price was really good at Dillards ($69.00). If they had been $130 like the Amazon price, I probably wouldn't have tried them on because I did not recognize the brand. If you're like me and usually stick to the traditional Nike or Addidas try this shoe on for a change. I think you will be pleasantly suprised.

Good start, poor finish,

These were excellent shoes for cross-training for the first two months. Stable and very comfortable.
Unfortunately the finish may leave something to be desired. The insert in one came out when taking the shoe off and was impossible to reinsert without creating raised ripples along the inner sole. Not so comfortable now... I have a pair of Ecco hiking boots, however, that have proven to be the most comfortable I've ever owned - and hard-wearing... so this was disappointing.

I've had a few pairs of Ecco shoes now and really like all of them.
In addition to being really comfortable, I find the Ecco to have great support that helps me walk less on the side of my foot. Most of the shoes I wear tend to wear unevenly, with the outer side getting most of the wear. For some reason I don't have this with the Ecco's - even after a year of heavy use, I see no sign of this. Which brings me to the other thing I like about Ecco's: they seem surprisingly durable, and it's not uncommon for me to get double the life out of them than I get from other brands. Comfort, support, durability - wins five stars in my book.

THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE RXP 3060 (previous model) - I had plantar fasciitis going into the mid season of my training for Ironman Wisconsin in 2008. I went to the Walking Company while visiting Indianapolis and the rep told me about these shoes being good for plantar problems. I was in pain. Any run was beginning to cause pain and I was running 15 miles on my long runs (not to mention the pin on the bike) when I went to the store for help.
I was hesitant because although I heard of and actually had a pair of ecco shoes, I never knew much about the performance shoe. Boy was I happy. I completed the IMW course in a personal best and my run was flawless. I actually took my finishers photo holding and pointing to my shoe because they saved me and helped my plantar issues. You also need ice and stretching to really heal but these were a fantastic help. I have run with Nike, Asics, Rebook, New Balance (had them for a long time until there new model switch caused me knee pain). When I was younger these shoes all worked for me for various reasons. The new balance was my best show ever until this ecco. I am 46 and over pronator and need support and cushion. I am lightweight but a heavy runner. We all have certain shoes we love but if you're searching for a stability shoe not too heavy (a little heavy but hey unless your on the podium or need an extra 2 seconds per mile for Boston the weight is well worth the cusion and balance) to run a marathon in and provides great support and forward motion give this a try...maybe I will see you at the finish line in 2010 my next IM thanks to Ecco

Worst shoe in 30 years of running,

This is not a pavement shoe. They are very stable and stiff. It wasn't until my six run until they stopped slapping the pavement. This is the most expensive pair of shoes I have ever purchased. The heel wore through in 300 miles. I run 6 miles twice a week and they were done in a tad more than 5 months. The rest of the shoes are in great condition. What a waste of money.

this a well built shoe but I am having a hard time figuring out if its a long distance shoe or what? I am having pain on my right foot only. This is odd. More to come.
Part 2, I have worn these for a couple months and I run about 4-5 miles at a time. There seems to be excess room for toes so they kind of flop around which leads to pain.

These shoes are the most comfortable shoes ever! They are like putting on slippers but with support. Ecco makes wonderful shoes!
