I've been anxiously awaiting these boots to drop in price all winter... I just couldn't rationalize the $240 MSRP. Once Amazon dropped the price to $100 - $150, I was sold.

These boots are extremely comfortable and well-made. I work indoors most of the day as a teacher and these boots are a perfect addition to my business-casual wardrobe. They were a little snug at first, but once I wore them a few times the leather broke in and molded to my foot. I would definitely recommend an all-weather leather protector if you plan on wearing them in rain/snow.

I definitely recommend these boots to anyone if you can snag them under the $150 range.

Boot overall appears well constructed but the arch support is way too high for me so it much like walk across a pipe in my boot. I changed out the insoles for Pedag Viva Outdoors and had instant relief. While the shoe provides wide enough area for foot to spread out side to side I found the top of the toe box to be somewhat taoered towards the toe which causes some discomfort when walking down an incline and the foot slides or moves forward in the boot (didn't matter which insole was in boot - same problem) hopefully this will stretch out over time and subside but if someone has a bunion on their big toe it may be a game changer for them.

I paid around $175 for my pair and think for that money I could have done better especially after having to change out the insoles. These boots are also heavy but they do seem to asborb some of the pounding of hard surfaces and terrain so somewhat of a trade off I guess but my insulated, waterproof, and taller hunting boots are lighter than these if that says anything.

I would say they are an "urban" boot best suited for concrete and asphalt walking with good traction but are expensive and aren't as comfortable as some say they are. One feature I reall find perplexing is the elastic band behind the tongue which makes them a bit hard to get on at times and really doesn't seem to have a purpose that I can see.

I have been wearing the Ecco Track since it came out in the 1990s. I have had about four pairs. They tend to last me about 4 or 5 years and since the soles cannot be replaced i have to buy new. I prefer the plain toe over the moccasin. I liked the Track II because they required no break-in, they are lite, very flexible, water proof and extremely comfortable. The soles are soft, spongy and grip wet granite and almost all other surfaces extremely well. The one problem I usually had with the Track II was the stitching, it would break loose on the left boot, right side, where the boot folds across the big toe.

HOWEVER- I am not as enthusiastic about the new Track 6 GTX. I may have to return them. I had to buy them because Ecco no longer offers a plain toe Track II. (I go with the plain toe because the one time i wore the Moccasin the stitching fell apart, even on the replacement pair). The Track 6 GTX is stiffer, the uppers are not as soft and flexible, the soles are thinner and not as spongy and they are going to require a break-in period because the right foot is being pinched around the little toe. one good thing - I have noticed that the construction has been changed around the area where the boot folds across the toes, I guess to minimize the seams and stitching in this area which i think is a great idea to prevent the stitching from coming apart there.

If my new Track 6 pair break-in well and soften-up they will hopefully be a great pair of boots for hiking. I will still miss the thicker, spongy soles of the Track II, they conformed to the rock better and absorbed shock better than the thinner, less flexible and spongy soles of the Track 6. I would have also preferred the color option of Nubuck (brown), which i cannot get with the Track 6. Ecco should blend the best of both boots, less stitching, softer, more flexible upper, spongy, thicker sole, bring back the plain toe and the NuBuck color.

These boots are the best I ever had so far. I like to take care of my feet very well since I'm all day on my feet. So I like Ecco boots a lot. I purchased these ones the other day and as soon as I put my feet inside I knew they were for me, I thought they were gonna take time to break in but no, they felt as if I have wore them for months, super comfy and nice looking.
I would recommend them for any occasion or type of job, they are the best, period.

    Update...

The bottom sole was gone really quick. The black foam inside was clearly visible and the dynamic of the whole boot overall wasn't the same .

I'm an electrical contractor and have been through my fair share of boots(24 years on the job).

They live up to my expectations from other Ecco boots.

    1. Very well made
    2. A little stiff at first, took a few days to break in.
    3. Cushioning around ankles is nice, support is on par with other Ecco products.

After 8 hours on my feet, climbing ladders all day, my feet feel fine, the dogs aren't barking after a day with these on.

as a ups driver i am very hard on boots. I used to go through danners in 6 months and goerga boots in about 7 the last pair of eccos i had lasted 3 yrs they were a little beat up to say the least but they held together till the end. I would recommend these boots to anybody that is on there feet 8+ hrs a day.
