3.0 out of 5 stars Looks great but tight across the top of the foot
I have many pairs of ecco shoes both dress and casual (I really like their sporty Mary Janes). This shoe fits well in all areas except across the wide part of the foot. I am hoping they will stretch out some because the fit is excellent in all other areas. I have these both in the red (which is absolutely gorgeous) and black.

5.0 out of 5 stars Le'go my Ecco!, June 15, 2009

For those who remember the old Eggo Waffle advertising slogan: "Le'go my Eggo!", the title to this review may be a sign of my deeply seeded overprotective feelings toward the Bouillon Flat...Well, you are right (hangs head in false shame...). Despite the fact that I own this style in more colors then I am willing to admit, every day I struggle with the decision whether or not to actually wear the shoes outdoors...they just look so darn pretty in the closet! I believe that, in the Bouillon, Ecco has created THE PERFECT FLAT! If the feminine Ballet Flat and the comfy Sneaker had an offspring, the Bouillon is what it would look like...

FIT:
True EU sizing (my US 11 requires an EU 42); true to size and true to width; forgiving for a wider foot. Oddly enough, when I first put the shoe on, I felt I had made a big mistake: the shoe rubbed mercilessly in many places. Thankfully, I persevered; after a couple of hours the shoe molded onto my foot and became UBER comfy. Unlike with many ballet flats, there is ample toe coverage with an accommodating toe box.

MAKE:
Upper and lining are leather or suede. The materials wear VERY well. I have had the shoes for over a year now but they still look almost new. The shoe does not sweat. The sole is rubber. There is a brilliantly hidden heel (about one inch); invisible from the outside, allows for good balance. With its comfort, the entire structure of the sole reminds me of a sneaker, but with a purely feminine look of a ballet flat.

LOOK:
The picture does not do the shoe justice. The style slims the foot and ankle, while transcending fashion fads. Well padded, but never bulky, this shoe offers reasonable protection from the elements, without the masculinity of a loafer; it is comfortable, without the ruggedness of a sneaker; it is dainty, without the barely there support of a ballet flat. The red color in particular is a sight to behold, though all the colors add something to an outfit, be it jeans, skirts, or suits.

While I highly recommend this style for all the above reasons, please remember: in the case of the Bouillon, ownership can easily turn to addiction...Buy at own risk!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ecco = comfort, July 24, 2010
LOVE these shoes! They are attractive and comfortable from the first day you wear them. I decided to buy these Ecco button-trimmed flats because I have two pairs of the similar Ecco button pumps. I wear one or the other pair almost daily, and have for close to a year, and they still look almost new. The leather doesn't wrinkle. Further, unlike some other shoes I've owned, the leather on the toes doesn't scrape away to show white underneath.

I agree with the first reviewer who said these shoes run large and to order a smaller size. If you normally wear an 8 or 8 1/2 (and thus a 39 European), you'll probably take a 38 in this shoe.

I bought a pair in Coffee Suede.True to the size, no blisters, or ANY discomfort - slippers, not shoes, I swear! :)
I usually buy designer brands ( Gucci, Prada,Chanel ),but Ecco Bouillion flat is fab!
Probably will get another pair it in a different color.

3.0 out of 5 stars LOVE ECCO, February 24, 2010

I just got the marbled black a bit ago and in my home they looked like they could be a gray black and i was okay with that. When i got to work a coworker said that they liked my purple shoes!! the lighting made them a plum color. I was a bit sad cuz I wanted the black and had worn them, so I wasn't able to return. Other than that I love Ecco!!! I have 11 pairs and they are amazing. I only rated lower because of the color.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite Shoes!, August 24, 2010
I purchased these on clearance at Nordstrom Rack, they are now my favorite shoes!

I get compliments virtually every time I wear them. They go with just about anything, but I usually wear them with dark flare-leg jeans. These shoes are VERY well made. I wear them about every other day - it's been about 6 months now and the only way you can tell they have been worn is the silver-printed ECCO label inside is mostly worn off. These shoes aren't even scuffed! Normally I don't pay more than $25 for shoes just because they're cute, but these are totally worth the $60-100 price range.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let me "Ecco" the praise for these shoes, July 31, 2010
I wore these flats brand new, with no break-in period, to a five-day conference at a HUGE conference hotel where I walked all day long. Never a blister. Nothing sharp poking me. Comfortable (VERY comfortable) from the first wearing. Well-made with leather counters inside the shoe near the heels. Very pretty and feminine - you can even wear them with suits and skirts! One caution: they ran large on my feet. I wear an 8 - 8 1/2 medium which they say should be a 39 European. The 39 was large, but I plan to get some Dr. Scholl's gel inserts to make them fit better. A 38 would have been perfect. I'm waiting for a sale to pick up that second pair! Ecco never disappoints me.

These shoes are just gorgeous...and really comfortable too. It's nice to have an option for walking that doesn't look like a nursing shoe. :) The sizes run a bit large, so be forewarned that you might need a size smaller than you think.

Shoes arrived and were very pretty and were comfortable when I tried them on. However, they were a good inch too long. I normally wear a 6 and went for the 6-6.5 size since that was the range closest to my normal size without a squeeze. I'm disappointed to have to return the shoes, because I think these would have satisfied the all day comfort test at work. Those that can get the size right, though should definitely give these a try.

1.0 out of 5 stars big disapointment, October 1, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Okay... super cute, but,MISERABLE. The size is true as far as length but they HURT where the the shape material stops on the foot. I bought these to have a single pair of shoes to tour Europe...probably better off wearing my "Santana "stilettos to tour Rome. I am putting wet paper towels in shoes in hopes they will quit rubbing. They make your foot look small and ankles flattering... but OUCH! Amazon does not have a good return policy compared to Sierra Trading Post or other travel clothing sites and the shoes are expensive so I am in panic mode!! Hope they work for others as they are cute and obviously well made and true to size. Just not good for larger frames I guess.
