I'm a jock that still likes to look nice when need be, so I was looking for a heel that was more substantial to make walking easier. I'm also 5'9" so I didn't want something too tall. These worked perfectly and the rubber soles are an added bonus. I normally wear a 9 1/2 and ordered the 40, but they were too small. The 41s just came today and they fit perfectly or at least as well as any pointy toed heel could. My heels are not slipping out of the 41s like I had worried. Definitely look at Ecco's sizing as whole sizes and go up one of you are a half size. The color is perfect and just like pictured. I would not describe them as buff gold, but maybe more of a warm pewter or metallic sand, which is nice because they're very neutral and could be warn with silver or gold jewelry. These shoes really do extend your leg without too much height, so you will be able to walk with as much class as the shoes have. You can't beat the price. On other websites even on sale they are over $100. Thanks Amazon!

I wear a size 7 and have slim, average width feet that are very sensitive and really suffer when I have to wear heels. I wear Ecco comfort shoes for their added combination of style and quality (along with Mephisto, Josef Seibel and Børn). When I had a formal event coming up where heels were a must, I looked looked online to the brands I could trust because I did not have time to run around to shops searching. I chose these because, from the pictures, they looked elegant with enough heel stack to give a nice leg without too much height. Once on though, these are very disappointing shoes! With barely average comfort, and styling that looks more suitable to day-time wear due to the thickly tapered heel shape giving them a squattish look when worn, they look and feel like big box discount footwear.
Having said all that though, I still give these 3 stars because if you are looking for a pump for daytime/office wear, and if you have good resilient feet, these would be a tasteful choice.

These shoes went back almost as soon as I tried them on. I've never tried on a pair of 40 (9/9.5, as indicated) so tight in my life. I felt like Cinderella's stepsister. I sent them back and purchased the DKNY Women's Mischa Pump for about $50 more and couldn't be happier with them. Also, the color on these was not nearly as soft as one would imagine, and more silvery than gold. Just a bad buy all around.
