Crashed and Burned after a week. Just spend a lil more and get a better board. FX 6100, Hd 7850, 4GB 1333 ram, 500 watts PSU

UPDATE, DEC 05, 2013 ~ 11 months later...
Originally 5 Stars, Now 2.5 Stars

11 months later and the on-board video died. I tried a couple of older Video cards in the 'x16 PCIe' slot and... still no video. So, all my prior comments regarding this board are valid... with the addition of... "while it works!"!!!

To show you that this board can handle being a workhorse, here's the setup I'm using on this board...
* Antec 380D Power Supply
* AMD Athlon II X2 245 processor
* 2 GB Geil DDR3-1066
* 1 x PCI RAID card with 2 x Western Digital 10K RPM, 36 GB, SATA-I Raptor hard drives in RAID-0, running Windows XP Home SP3
* 1 x Seagate 160 GB SATA-II drive as alternate OS for my games (Windows XP Home SP3)
* 1 x Seagate 2 TB, SATA-III drive as data storage
* 1 x Seagate 500 GB, SATA-II drive as data storage
* 2 x DVD optical drives (1 SATA) (1 IDE)

My former motherboard died after being in service since 2006, with the CPU, RAM, Graphics card, Sound Card, PCI USB card all being in service since 2004. I needed a quick INEXPENSIVE board to get my system up and running till I can afford an all new system. So far this motherboard installed all hardware and software without any problems. I can't comment on overclocking as I haven't done any with this board... But so far it is a solid performer at a great price and will hold me over till I get a new board.

This is the first board I've owned where I couldn't use the floppy to insert the RAID / AHCI drivers in the windows XP installation. I ran across several articles where the software application 'nlite' could be used to both slipstream service packs, add drivers, as well as many other handy functions. It made installing windows with the necessary RAID / AHCI, drivers a snap. Easier than formatting a USB flash drive and loading them that way.

So far I'm extremely satisfied with what this motherboard offers at it's price point ($39.99).

i no longer use this board but for the time i used it, it was very good to me. overclocking is very easy on it and the bios is nice and simple. it is a micro atx board so it does only have one pcie port and two ram slots but thats fine for a entry level build, overall great, cheap board
