5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
4 gig in such a small package. It is so great to have to not worry about if you have enough room or not while on the road. While going to college I can keep all my previous class information for reference anywhere I go.

Has not failed once and with the cover that you can't lose makes the whole package great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unsuitable for Mac use
I had to return my unit because part of its space is dedicated to PC use and I work on a Mac. Even when throwing away the useless PC software, the disk insisted on putting two icons on my desktop: the main space and the now mostly empty PC space. A call to the tech people at diskGO revealed they didn't even understand the problem and no one there seems to know anything...

The flash drive is very convenient and the ultimate in portability. You hang it around your neck from the lanyard. When you're ready to use it, just unclip it from the lanyard, swivel the drive from inside the protective case, and plug it into the computer. I just love it and plan to buy one with a larger capacity.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this drive. It's too slow., April 17, 2008

I have owned many thumb drive, and always from a name brand such as SanDisk and Lexar. The transfer rate has always be blazing fast with them. I came across of diskGo because it's cheap, and the specs look decent, so I gave it a try. The drive arrived, and I put it on a test drive, the read speed is great, just like SanDisk and the Lexar I owned, but when it come to write, it's so damn slow. Took like 20 minutes to copy 4 gb. I can do better with DVDR.

Another bad feature is the drive is not clip to the cover. This is my first assumption when I see the picture, the cover and drive are one. Needless to say, I lost the drive.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor product and poor support, March 19, 2008

This review is from: EDGE DiskGO! 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Silver) (Personal Computers)
I did not buy it from amazon otherwise I could simply have sent it back to them, it was a redemption choice that I unfortunately made for a rewards program. I recently got it and it absolutely did not work. It froze my laptop and I had to call their tech support the first time I connected it to my computer as it kept jut blinking for a very long time. I can't believe they have such a poor tech support and they close at 6 pm. Even during business hours, I ended up reaching their voice mail and had to leave a message. They are not sure what they are diagnosing and they do not even bother telling any details. Worse than that you gonna keep getting calls the next day again and again within in next few hours till you tell them that you do not want their replacement product. Every person who called had no idea that I had already been called. These people were pretending that by giving me a one time replacement they would do me a big favor. Since I gave up to their poor service, the instructions that were supposed to be emailed the next day never happened. Horrible product and terrible service!!! I think even made in China products come with better product support. My experience ... stay far far away.

I was hoping for something a little more rugged but this drive seems forever in danger of disconnecting from its shell. It works fine and seems quick enough, but does not inspire confidence.

1.0 out of 5 stars I threw mine out, March 17, 2008

This review is from: EDGE DiskGO! 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Silver) (Personal Computers)
I was looking for a flash drive with the capacity to transfer documents and e-mail from my Mac G5 desktop to my G4 laptop. Because my 2G SimpleTech was not big enough, I decided to try the 4GB DiskGo USB 2.0 Flash drive. What a mistake. Not only is it the slowest flash drive I have ever used, I can never get it to unmount from my G5 either.

So today I just threw it out. For me, it simply is not worth the trouble it took to use this drive. Too many complications. I have always loved my SimpleTechs -- back to the 256 days. So I will see if they have something with enough capacity now to help me.

I like this drive. It holds quite a bit, is pretty fast, and the swivel cover is a great way to not lose the top. The swivel comes off really easily but pops right back on.

2.0 out of 5 stars Free Trial Software - Where?, November 6, 2007

This review is from: EDGE DiskGO! 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Silver) (Personal Computers)
When the product arrived it was in a small plastic resealable bag measuring 1" by 2". There was a small fortune cookie sized note stating that all reference material could be located on the URL that was provided. When I went to the site I found the basic information I needed to get up and running. There was also a statement that "All DiskGO USB Flash Drives are shipped with Cryptarchiver Lite, a limited version of the encryption software which encrypts data up to 128AES". Every time I tried to access this I got a message asking me for my password that was suppose to have been emailed to me from Diskgo. I called their tech support and they said no password is needed and the product ships with the software. After going round and round with their tech support I finally gave up. Cryptarchiver may be a great product, but if you can't install it how do you know???

I have had one of these for about 6 months. It is fast enough for me and as fast as other flash drives I have used.

I corrupted the formatting on my drive and it would only hold a few hundred megabytes. I e-mailed tech support and the next day received a phone call from a friendly technician -- who was based in the US (!?!) -- who talked me through reformatting the drive. It has worked fine since.
