5.0 out of 5 stars Unique music and the voice of an angel.

2.0 out of 5 stars Michael Crawford can't sing; Where's David Cassidy???
great show and music but without Michael Crawford. I heard there was a recording with David Cassidy; even Tommy Tune is better. I would like to find that recording if it is available.

First hearing this at a friend's house, I was left breathless. The music, while definitely a bit of a shock for those--like myself--who had only heard Mr. Crawford's voice on "Phantom of the Opera" is a fascinating blend of a couple of different styles. Although I wasn't fortunate enough to see it--and have little desire to now that Michael Crawford has left the show--the music inspired and thrilled me.(And Michael's voice on nearly every song sure didn't hurt! :4) ) "Somewhere in Time" whisks you off your feet from the very beginning, "Tonight" is a stunning love song that brought tears to my eyes, and I still get chills every time I listen to Michael's soaring voice against the background of a hugely talented ensemble in "EFX", "Counting Up To Twenty", "Open Your Eyes", and most especially "Finale". If you are at all impressed by the other works of one of the most talented singers and actors of our time, I definitely recommend "EFX".

5.0 out of 5 stars EFX is the greatest CD I have ever heard., July 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: EFX: Original Cast Album (1995 Las Vegas Cast) (Audio CD)
I went to see EFX in Las Vegas, I was amazed by the music, and special effects in the show. I feel that Michael Crawford is the greatest singer I have ever heard, and no one will ever replace him in that show in my mind. But he has been replaced, by David Cassidy. If you have seen the show with Crawford, don't waste your hard earned cash. You will be very angry. The CD is very upbeat, and fun to listen to. With Michael's crystal clear voice, it is amazing they replaced him with Cassidy. You should by this CD to listen to ultimate theatre music. All in all, EFX with Crawford is the best CD I have ever listened to period. END

I was fortunate to see the show in Las Vegas. I only wish a video was available. It was a remarkable performance. The songs are great -- especially Somewhere in Time, Tonight, and Open Your Eyes.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Childhood Memory, July 6, 2005
This review is from: EFX: Original Cast Album (1995 Las Vegas Cast) (Audio CD)
The particular item that I purchased was worn on the outside cover, it is to be expected, but is the reason for the 4 stars. The CD inside, however, was in great condition. For the first time in many years I listened to a favorite. The cassette tape that my parents brought home after seeing the play at the MGM Grand all those years ago was a treasured item. Now, over ten years later, I can relive a part of my shadowy childhood.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Show I've Seen, February 13, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: EFX: Original Cast Album (1995 Las Vegas Cast) (Audio CD)
I was lucky enough to see Michael Crawford in this show years ago. My husband scratched the first CD I had bought the night I saw the show, and I just had to buy another one. Great upbeat music of various styles. My favorites are "Somewhere in Time" and "Morgana's Arrival". I'd highly recommend this CD to Michael Crawford and show tune fans.

After roughly 2 listens so far, I can safely say that this CD is AMAZING! The music is beautiful, and Michael Crawford's voice is working its usual magic with me. All of Michael's fans should try to find a copy of this CD! My favorite songs are EFX and Counting Up to Twenty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Michael Crawford takes you on a wonderful journey!, July 17, 2001
This review is from: EFX: Original Cast Album (1995 Las Vegas Cast) (Audio CD)
I just want to say this album is wonderful! Michael Crawford sings each song so beautifully . The album includes lovely songs like "Open your Eyes" and "Tonight" It is not the one in "West Side Story" It's a different song, but just as beautiful as that, maybe more. You will never regret purchasing a copy of this. Also there is the beautiful song "Somewhere in Time" in it. It is sung with love. It deserves more than 5 stars in my opinion.
