I purchased the 2026 filter in Jan 2009. It worked great for 2 years and now leaks. This is a common complaint of this filter. It is a design flaw in the priming mechanism and non- serviceable O- rings behind the quick disconnect on the filter. It is seldom a problem with the canister seal. That large priming button on the 2026 is the problem. The entire impeller assembly moves with it. Opening the filter head to replace those O rings behind the quick disconnect voids the warranty which seems to be useless anyway. I believe Eheim has corrected many of the issues of the PRO-II line of filters with the PRO-III filter line. The priming mechanism is separate from the impeller assembly and the hose disconnect has been redesigned. For entertaining reading do an online search for the 2026 and leaks. It is quite informative.

For those of you using the Pro-II filter such as the 2026 good luck and keep an eye on the water level of your aquarium.

I had a 90 gal tank and I used this 2026 filter as well as a 2227 wet-dry filter to do all my filtering. Both ran flawlessly for 3+ years with no issues, and my water parameter is always perfect. I sold my tank recently but when I re-enter the hobby, I will certainly buy this cannister filter to do my filtration

I have 2026 Eheim for 72 gallons aquarium for 7 years. During this time I changed sealing ring 3-4 times. I dind't have any other problems. Be aware that during cleaning top port of the filter (with sealing ring) should be in the water. Sealing ring should be always in the water or you will change it more offe. Be nice to have one extra around. I clean filter every 3 months. It takes couple hours. And if you need any repair parts it's easy to find online. Recomend
