11/2013 update: This light has been completely overtaken by other superior lights, both in terms of lumens in the front and visibility in the rear. Lights have come an enormous way since this light was purchased only a few years ago. Comparing what this light and the safety and visibility you get to what is currently available for a similar price is astounding.

2009 Review: I have been commuting with this light set for the winter season, which means that mornings and evenings were pretty much all in the dark. This set is a decent purchase for the price. I have a combination urban and suburban commute, and use the front light in flash mode for the busy part of the ride and then switch to steady when I need the added visibility on the road in front. I get the impression from the pedestrian and driver reactions that they see the flashing front light pretty quickly, but have to admit that in the steady mode, the beam of light only extends about 10 - 12 feet in front so am not comfortable going fast when there is doubt about junk on the road or on the path in front. I do like the fact that the light slips off its mount easily as I slip it into my pocket so it doesn't get stolen off my bike when I am at work.

In terms of the back light, I don't even bother to turn it on in the evening as I have purchased a much bigger multi-flashing light and mounted it on my backpack. This light is so small and dim that I don't think it provides the visibility needed to compete with all the other distractions out there on the roads.

This set of lights is very easy to install. The front light is very bright... I think I can see upto 6-8 feet ahead when I ride in almost complete dark environment. Build-quality is quite good... not so filmsy as well as the plastic finishing is not so cheap-feeling (unlike some that I saw at Walmart). I like this very much!... so that I want to ride my bike every night!

I'm very happy with this product for the $26.99 I paid for it. It is bright, comes with the batteries (the taillight uses "N" type - for medical devices - by the way), and comes on and off the mount easily. However, if you look at the top of the lens where it's clear, some light comes out there and causes glare. It was like driving with lights on inside your car. So, I put two pieces of electrical tape on the lens and viola! It works great now! I see the current price is $48.90. That's way too much, in my opinion!

The Front light is Decent for its Size, Weight and Brightness. I wished the back light was little bigger. The brightness is OK but the size is small for a back-light.
Going to buy another, bigger back light
