Good Idea, Bad Design,

My daughter received this as a 1st year birthday present. She immediately enjoyed carrying around the spatula and frying pan, completely ignoring the rest of the toy set. She's now 14 months old and plays with it once a day or so, and it's flaws are becoming more and more apparent.Unfortunately, it suffers from several design flaws - the most apparent of which is that the back (with the spice shelf) does not latch into place and will be the first thing your child removes when playing. The second problem is that the whole kitchen itself is smaller than it should be and very lightweight. My 14 month old daughter has made a game of carrying the entire kitchen to the stairway and leaving it on the third step up. It tips over when played with, but it's small and lightweight enough it doesn't cause a safety problem. The good side - the noises and effects are amusing and cute, particularly the sizzling sound the stove makes when you put something on it. While my daughter does enjoy playing with the kitchen, it will be replaced very soon with a home-built play kitchen made from Ikea parts. The fact is, this play kitchen is simply too small for the age group it's aimed at and is very disappointing in regards to how cheaply built it is. I'm only left with the thought that I might be able to remove the sound system and hack it into the ikea play kitchen I'm building for her.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much entertainment this little kitchen has provided my son. We have had it for 1.5 years now. We gave it to my son for Xmas when he was 14 months old and he still plays with it at 2.5. He loves to cook, so he carries it upstairs and downstairs and usually brings it into the kitchen so he can cook while I am cooking dinner. It is tiny - but that has made it transportable and easy for my son to bring it different places in the house - wherever he wants to cook. There are few cute features - the stove makes a hissing sound when you put the pan on and salt and pepper shakers rattle. Enough noises and lights to entertain him, but not loud and annoying.

My 15 month daughter never enjoyed this toy. It is simply too small. She does run around with the skillet in her hand. but she has never played with the kitchen.

Bought the item as a birthday gift for my 2-year-old. WAY too young for him. This is not really a pretend-play toy as much as a push-buttons, spin-things toy that you'd buy for an infant, just in a "kitchen" form. Also, there is no way for the back part to latch on, the portion with the "shelf" for the salt and pepper, so it kept falling off. I think it would be a nice toy for a one-year old.

It's just a cheap little toy kitchen and the toaster usually doesn't work on ours.My daughter plays with it though:)One plus is it is made in England and not China.

This was a Christmas gift purchased for our 2-1/2 yr old granddaughter. She absolutely loves playing with and sharing this toy with her friends. It's pretty compact and clever, plus it's sturdily made. I would highly recommend this toy.

The oven door does not stay shut when you close it. Other than that, the kitchen is cute and my 15-month-old enjoys playing with it.

I liked a lot of the features on this kitchen. It is very durable. There are a few moving parts and sounds to attract attention. I was very disappointed at the size. Basically you have to put it up on a table if your one year old is walking. For the price I'm not sure it was worth it.

The toy was a big hit with my 1 year old grandaughter. Her 2 year old brother likes it too. It is small but well made. The kids liked spatula and the fact that the pan also fits in the oven. Salt and pepper shakers fun too.

This play kitchen is adoreable. My 18mo. old loves it. The salt and pepper shakers have rattles in them, the washer makes a whirling noise, as does the skillet when you fry the egg. Very durable.
