Naomi and I wanted to write a book that would be fun, easy to use, and amusing. Anyone reading this book is going to laugh out loud and get a kick out of the humorous anecdotes, jokes, and quotes, but the real value is having interesting, fun, and worthwhile activities to do with the grandkids (or nieces and nephews, or even with your own kids) that are easy to prepare and do, and that also have lasting value. We have read parenting books that were so ponderous it took the fun out of the activity, so we cut the projects to the bone. We limited each project to one page and made sure to include the age level, how long the activity will take, and how much it will cost, so you know from the start what to expect. We hope this book will be a great resource to have on hand, and especially that it will help strengthen the bonds among family members. And because we often live far apart from one another, we included many activities that are designed for "remote" connecting. We wish you great success and joy in your family activities.

I learned so much reading this book and found myself laughing out loud at the jokes and sayings!! I spend lots of time with my five grandsons and truly want to have a unique relationship with each of them. The ideas in this 52 ELF book are so well thought out and offer so many levels and dimensions to activities that I never would have come up with myself. The focus on memorable moments is inspired. There is even a recipe for making "slime" which I think my boys will really enjoy someday. It even helps you plan and organize and gather the necessary items for the activities so you have more success. Grandparents are perhaps more involved with grandkids now than ever. We live longer and have many more years to become important to this wonderful next generation. Even if you think you have lots of ideas for things to do, this book will give you more and add depth to your precious hours together. I highly recommend it for parents and teacher too.
