I bought this device after reading other reviewers who had good success with both it and Torque, the Android OBD-II app. As it seemed not much different than other cheap OBD-II bluetooth tools, I took the plunge as it had no negative reviews. It arrived in a nondescript plastic bag with a small half-sized mini-CDR with Windows software and USB drivers (scantool, ScanMaster-ELM, OBD2Spy, EasyOBDII, wOBDCRAZY).

I wanted this device for several reasons - (1) Standard Check Engine light diagnostic scenarios, (2) I plan on flashing an ECU performance upgrade and I wanted the ability to measure my car's engine performance in great detail so I could see exactly what the upgrade did afterwards.

The dongle seems to work flawlessly. After plugging into the bus interface on my Golf R and pairing with my Nokia N9 I was able to use my phone to monitor real-time sensors continuously throughout a 20-minute car ride.

Since many of you stateside will not ever see this particular OBD app (N9 is more of a euro market phone) and haven't seen Torque - it has a wealth of sensor monitoring, continuous graphing features, and even has real-time graphical speedometer and tachometer displays - OK these are more of a visual toy, but it is a good test to indicate that the sensor is communicating flawlessly and continuously throughout the ride via bluetooth, which is what I suspect most potential buyers are interested in. Another detail that might be worth mentioning is that the app has a great many OBD-II protocol negotiation parameters (different ISO standards, baud rates and such) but selecting auto-negotiation seemed to work just fine. This might be more of a measure of the app than the controller though.

Love the product! At first it didn't work in one vehicle (2005 Chevy Express) but did in the older one I have. Turns out, the OBD2 connector gets its power from the cigar lighter fuse, which was blown. Replaced fuse and it's good to go. Using with my Samsung mesmerize running 2.3.5. If you have issues with the adapter not powering up, check the port for power before assuming anything else.

Had to order this to replace a friend's device that I borrowed and lost. Ordered my first one off Ebay and it was a dud. Ordered this one, paid less, and it worked right out of the box (actually a zip lock bag). Used it in conjunction with Torque on my Tablet.

Product worked great and synced to the Torque app on my phone with no problems. Saved me quite a bit of money vs a scan tool.

I purchased this OBDII scanner to monitor fuel pressure after installing Autotech high pressure fuel pump internals in my 2011 Mazdaspeed 3. It works perfectly and I would recommend it to anyone that wants a cheap and easy way to monitor numerous things on their cars with their smartphone.

Got this for my 2004 explorer to check codes and for up to date stats on the vehicle. I use this along with the android app torque and it works wonders. First time my cars check engine light came on I paired my phone to this device it gave me the reason behind it. Good buy

Recently, I've been getting a flashing airbag light on the instrument cluster and called up the dealer for some help. They weren't any help at all for my 2012 Mazda5 GT as I was basically asking them to decipher the flashing sequence. I was skeptical as to whether this rather inexpensive OBD-II reader would do the job but figured it would not be such big deal trying to find the code my self. I received the unit in about a week and then downloaded the full version of Torque app for my Android phone as the free version did not have the full capability.

When I read the code, it came back as B1994, which was Driver's Side Airbag Circuit have High Resistance. So I checked underneath the driver's seat and sure enough, the black/red cable was chewed up by my new dog. I resoldered the connection and reset the code and problem went away. I feel like a dealer technician now and just save time, and who know, maybe over a hundred dollars in diagnostics fee. Maybe they could even have told me that it was the computer and replace the wire and tell me that it was for something that wasn't under warranty.

This is rather inexpensive automotive tool that can! Thank you!
