I've had this sitting in my cart for over a year, and thanks to my girlfriend I finally got it. This is my first electric skateboard.

I weight over 250 pounds, and this skateboard is up to the challenge. Admittedly, going up hills it struggles a bit, but it doesn't stop, it just slows down.

It says the top speed is 19mph. I tested it (by having my girlfriend drive next to me and look at her speedometer) and on level ground the top speed was 10mph. While on a skateboard though, it feels plenty quick. To give some perspective, 10mph is a healthy jogging speed. Of course going downhill you can go as fast as you want.

How does it compare to a traditional skateboard? I've never been a skateboarder, my entire experience on a traditional skateboard is about 15 minutes. With regard to running over rocks, the electric has much bigger wheels, so most rocks are not an issue. After several hours of riding, I did manage to run over one rock that was just the wrong size, and it brought the skateboard to a skidding stop, I didn't fall down, but I did stumble off of the board. Traditional: in 5 minutes of riding I managed to hit a tiny pebble and the skateboard bucked me and I fell to the ground.

I heard that it's easier to use an electric skateboard because you don't have to keep kicking and then regaining your balance. I agree with this, I found it very easy to learn the electric skateboard.

I can't imagine anyone doing tricks on this board. Someone more brave than me could perhaps ride it off a curb, but that's about it. The board weighs about 50 pounds. That weight also means you wouldn't want to carry the board any significant distance.

It's not silent. I'd say it's about as loud as a remote control car.

My boyfriend has wanted one of these boards for sometime now. I decided to get it for him for Christmas. When it arrived I opened the box and noticed these little black pieces of plastic and one big piece in the box. But I didn't see where it came from. On Christmas he opened it and when he put it together he noticed where the plastic pieces came from. So I looked up on Amazon to see how to return it only to find out I could not do so. So we went to the makers website and called about a replacement part, (The on/off housing unit) They have it, and we had to get it for an additional $95 plus shipping. Sucks that I have to come out of the pocket more money and even worse Amazon would not take it back and replace it. Very very disappointed..........

Don't rely on the pictures, the product is gigantic and heavy as hell. It is impossible to handle by any kid. I can't carry it myself even. The seller is awful, the service sucks. They answered telling me that thy were on a strange Holliday and the will be get back to me in 10 days. The worst transaction ever made and for almost 500 Dls. Do your self a favor and don't buy it!!

I have ridden it on 15 outings so far and one thing I have noticed is that the power starts to lose power after a couple miles, even with a relatively strong chrarge. But it does keep on going up inclines even at sluggish speeds. At the end of the day, I am satisfied. I am 46 years old and having this provides me a way to play with my three boy (6,9,12)

I bought this guy as an upgrade to another lower power board that was given to me by a friend. It seemed pretty expensive for something I viewed as a toy, but let me tell you; this is money well spent. The board is incredibly fast and stable and has given me zero problems in terms of reliability or battery life. I don't have a history with skateboards apart from a healthy fear of hurting myself on one, but I was able to pick this up and feel comfortable carving hard within a day of receiving it. If you make alot of short car trips or have to walk/bike anywhere I would recommend picking up one of these. I ride it around at my work and save alot of time avoiding parking. The only downside I can see is that this board is fairly heavy, so be aware of this if you'll have to lug it up stairs. If it's a problem for you, then look into the lighter models that they sell.

I've had the SS600 for about a month now. I ride it daily and haven't had many problems with it. An iphone app tells me I'm going 15MPH which feels plenty fast (I weigh 180lbs). Acceleration is pretty good, and it feels real torquey. The braking is solid too.

Solder job in the battery pack sucked, I wasn't able to charge it one day because the positive lead from the charge port to one of the sla batteries had broken off which was caused by a little slop in the case. I needed to tighten the truck bushings all the way because i was wobbling like crazy at full speed, actually I had to tighten up all the bolts on the board. I also fab'd a handle, this thing is heavy and very unconfortable to try carry with one hand.

I'll report back if I have any other problems, but so far I love this thing!
