I just received my kit and am quite pleased overall. The plugs all seem sturdy and the connections fit snugly. The cables are typical industry standard thickness, thus sturdy as well.
My only considerations are, as another reviewer noted, the included cloth pouch has a draw string and could easily enough lend to a plug falling out if not carefully drawn. Note as well, that while there are 9 individual connectors total, 2 are duplicates (2 RJ45 & 2 RJ11); thus there are 6 different/distinct option types and not 9 (one being for cable extension/a combiner).
Also, my package (ordered thru Amazon) did not have the USB Female extension connector that it should have, and instead had a third RJ45 connector. In other words, it was mis-packaged (because the packaging label has USB Female printed on it). I have an email in to Emerge and hope to have them correct the error. The kit should include: (1) USB A Female, (1) USB B Male (round), (1) Mini USB Male 4-pin round, (1) Micro USB Male 5-pin flat, (1) Mini USB Male 5-pin flat, (2) RJ-11, and (2) RJ-45.

This product works exactly the way it is suppose to it is an adapter. The other two comments are ridiculous. IF you don't know how to hookup something then find someone who does. If you smoked anything it is because you are clueless and connected to outputs together and therefore you get what you deserve broken hardware. The cable is not responsible for your cleverness. DO NOT HOOKUP items backwards.

I purchased this kit for my computer repair business. Many times I work on-site with the customer and the majority of the time it is some peripheral that is the problem and usually their cable is broken. This kit is VERY handy to have to make sure it is or, in some cases, isn't the cable causing the problem and with so many USB devices around with different ends...I could not work without it. The cables themselves have adequate strain relief at each end and so far I haven't had anything go bad with the cables or destroyed anything with them.

I purchased a Retractable USB Synch & Charge as a "stocking stuffer" for Christmas for my wife to use with her Motorola Razr Cell Phone as a charger from her PC's USB and as a car charger -- sounded like a great idea, but didn't match with reality. Upon connecting the phone to the USB via the Emerge Technologies Inc (Irving, Texas) product, the PC went on a wild goose chase for software and never can back so the charger didn't work; I then tried the car charger adapter and got an error message from the cell phone: unable to charge. I've never gotten a return call from customer service, and the documentation on their webswite is woefully lacking. I would not buy any product from this company again and only hope I can get my money back!!! What a waste of time!!!

I bought this item today so I could avoid adding a new slot to my old P.C. However, when I hooked this up from my computer to my Wireless G router, the router started smoking and making crackling noises. I wouldn't recommend this product at all.
