I felt like I was having coffee with Patrice and we were discussing our birth stories. I took the journey along with her as she told her birth stories, first in a hospital, then a birthing center, then finally at home. She explained how each birth was in each setting and why she chose to birth the way she did each time. I especially enjoyed the accounts from the other birth attendees and the beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing Patrice!

This book was soooo good. I did not set it down. After I was done with it I let my (expecting)sis. read it. She said she did not put it down till it was done as well. I think One Woman's Journey to Homebirth is for any and every one. The mom, mom-to-be, friends of the mom 2 b and the whole family. There is something in it for everyone that is even the slightest bit interested in natural birth, homebirth, hospital birth or birthcenter birthing...I also have a copy in my lending library. LOVE IT!
It is like you are there witnessing each of Patrice's experiences.

Honestly I loved this book and plan on rereading it. Patrice is so honest about each of her journeys and pregnancies. And yes, as other reviewers have said, I felt like I was there with her. I commend her on finding her voice and sharing her story, it is an important one. Should be 6 stars.

Patrice London's book Empowered to Birth Naturally provides an intimate look at one woman's journey with birth in various settings (hospital, birth center, and finally home) and what she has learned along the way. When i was finished reading this book I felt like i'd had a personal conversation with Patrice about her experiences and certainly helped me reaffirm when i have my next child, i want to go the homebirth route.

Patrice's honesty and insight on her journey was a delight to read. I felt like I was there with her!
