5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent review aid November 17, 2006
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
As both a Paramedic and EMT-B instructor, I have recommended this book as a study aid for the last three classes. Our course has an excellent NREMT-B exam success rate. The book has well written questions with concise answers. This is a paperback book presented in a flash card format, making it easy to find the answers on the reverse side of the page. Several students have said the questions are in a similar format to the NREMT-B exam. It is well worth the price considering the amount of time the EMT course takes.

5.0 out of 5 stars The proof is in the cert. July 17, 2006
At first I bought the Brady 3rd ed. EMT-B book to study with because I heard good things about that book. But when I saw this book and the price I instantly bought the REA book. Compared to the other book I bought this book was the biggest help and I got more from it. I maybe studied 1 unit out of the Brady book but questioned through the REA book with ease and learned a lot. Like I said the proof is in the cert.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book! March 17, 2007
These flashcards are amazing. Very very good National Registry study tool in my opinion. Tells you why all answer choices are right or wrong. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good overall, but not without flaws. April 28, 2008
I used this as a study aid and passed, so I guess it can't be all bad. The questions are phrased clearly and concisely. It has about the same level of difficulty as the actual exam.

I will warn any potential buyers that there are some mistakes and/or outdated info. The most obvious being the compression to ventillation ratios are more than a little off.

If you're comfortable enough with the material to spot the mistakes, then it's a good aid, but don't rely on it exclusively. If something sounds wrong, look it up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Flashcards! December 31, 2006
These flashcards are not individual cards that can be easily lost or misplaced. They are bound together in a book with the questions on one side and of course, the answers on the other. The questions are not simply "Define bradycardia" or the like. They are chock full of detailed scenarios and not just the answer, but the details of WHY that answer is correct. The flashcards cover basically five categories of situations: Airway & Breathing, Cardiology, Medical, Obstetrics & Pediatrics, and Trauma. The questions start off relatively easy and progressively move into more difficult situations. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone studying to be an EMT-B! It is a fantastic aid and I have no complaints about it whatsoever.

4.0 out of 5 stars EMT Basic Flashcards July 19, 2008
I encourage my EMT-B students to purchase this book at the beginning of each course. I have found it to be extremely helpful in studying for their lessons and constant review. Many of my students have come back to me when the course was over and they had tested nationally to tell me they felt this book was a tremendous help to them.

This book helped me pass the National Registry exam.

"FLASHCARDS in a book?," I thought. Come to find out it's a perfect way to review and memorize! This is very good if you work (can study during breaks) or study best in short sessions. The book is a compact size so you can carry it with you. The questions mirror what is on the actual EMT-Basic test. It's full of scenarios just like the National Registry test. If you will be taking the exam soon, you MUST get book! One hint for the National registry - Remember oxygen, oxygen, oxygen!

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good book August 4, 2007
I used this as a study guide for my NYS EMT exam. It helped me because I had to remember all the NY standards when answering questions. I was living in a tent the week I took my written exam and managed to score an 82. This book is great because you can sit and study for 5 minutes or 5 hours and you won't forget where you left off. Explanations are good and the questions are labled so you can use it as a tool during class to study for exams or you can focus on stuff you might be having difficulty with. I would reccomend this book to anyone taking an EMT class or interested in it at all. it has a lot of interesting facts at the bottom of some pages and its just a fun study guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars EMT basic
Excellent review questions and analysis of exam questions. They are categorized nicely but scattered, much like they are on the national registry.
