Excellent NREMT exam prep,
By Florida EMT "Jim" (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: EMT-Basic Review Manual for National Certification (Paperback)
This is an excellent review for the NREMT exam for EMT-B certification. It is well organized, helps you pinpoint areas where you need to study more, and is written very much like the actual test.
The questions in these practice tests are much more difficult than those found in online practice tests, which tend to be over-simplified. Just as important, this book is from an authoritative source; I found some answers in the online sources which were just plain wrong. The NREMT exam is as much about test-taking ability as it is about subject matter knowledge, and that's where this book really helps. In particular, there are many questions on the actual exam where the choices contain information which looks very simple at first glance, but which in fact contains very subtle differences. The questions in this book give you those types of choices, and train you to read each question carefully looking for those nuances which are the difference between a right answer and a wrong answer. Your first time through the questions in this book may be a wake-up call if you don't really know your stuff. But it's better to get a wake-up call before the test, rather than during the test. I passed on the first try. Good luck!

This review is from: EMT-Basic Review Manual for National Certification (Paperback)
All that needs to be said is that this is the only EMT-Basic review book you will ever need. All others books are just a waste of time and money. The reason is because the questions in this book closely resemble what you will see on the national exam. If you want to pass the national test buy this book and read your EMT-Basic text book from front to back and you will almost certainly pass.

This book would have been great six years ago. It is way too simple to properly prepare you for the test now, and it doesn't contain a lot of the information that you will be seeing on the test they are currently giving. Get something more up to date that includes reviews on weapons of mass destruction and other hazardous materials. This what what I used to study when I challenged the test to get my card back, and I was very unpleasantly surprised to find out that this book was pretty much useless when I failed my test.

The best,

This is the closest to the NR that I've seen (I haven't seen them all) but despite its small size it had the best content.

This book outlines the areas of EMT testing at both State and National Level. It's a sure way to review all the areas that will be covered on the exams. I highly recommend it for anyone just out of school or preparing for certification.

Great buy!,
This review is from: EMT-Basic Review Manual for National Certification (Paperback)
Great product that has really helped me out alot in class and preparing to take the national registry exam! It comes with a detailed look at the skills you are required to complete as part of the exam, with common mistakes made on them, and a practice exam with answers.

I bought this book for my son to review before the test. He said that it helped him greatly. The tests in the book were very helpful.

The book is very straight forward, it has about 300 questions covering all the areas tested in the National Registry. It also has the answers in the back and rationals explaining why it would be the answer. I havent taken the National Registry yet but I did learn a great amount using this book. I would recommend this book to anyone who's taken the EMT-B class already and wants to study for the National Registry.

Pretty out-dated,

It's a good thing this book has good prep questions, otherwise it would be worthless. I can't understand why the author hasn't come out with an up-dated book to reflect TQ and new CPR protocols. However, I have used this same book to help study and pass the EMT-B Re-certification exam three times now. The questions are worded in a similar way to the real test, and it get's you thinking in that slightly ridiculous frame of mind to correctly answer some of those ridiculous questions on the Exam. Good test prep book, just keep up to date with the current protocols and ignore the outdated questions.
