I was a bit worried when I ordered a size down (I tend to wear an 8.5-9). However, it was the best thing to do. These boots fit my feet PERFECTLY, not tight and not loose. Just snug and oooh so comfortable.
The base on the inside is sheepskin (supersuper soft) and the leg part is wool, both very warm and very comfortable. The outside of the shoe is more leathery than I expected--but that's perfect seeing as I'll be living in a very wet climate for the next year.
If you need a stylish, warm, and water-resistant/proof boot, this is it. I don't know yet how well they hold up to water since it's summer in California at the moment, but I have great expectations!
Probably the best $97 I've ever spent

Black bleeds everywhere! But Chestnut is PERFECT!, October 20, 2011

I was soooooooooo excited about these boots. I saved my pennies all month to purchase them. Finally, they arrive. It's like Christmas!!!!
I tear open the packaging and immediately try them on. First thoughts: "Oh my God these are so cozy!"
Second thought: "Wow these are huge!"
I ordered my usual size 8, and there was a TON of room. Almost to the point where my foot flopped around when I walked. Knowing they'd stretch out once I wore them a while, I knew I'd have to exchange them. BUT!!! I wanted so badly to keep them and wear them immediately since it was a cold, rainy October day and I had to run some errands. But .... Then I noticed my hands where black. I went and washed them, and the sink turned gray from all the black that was coming off my hands.
I knew immediately that it was from my new beloved boots. After thinking a few minutes about how to work around this: Water proofing it with spray perhaps? Only wearing them with pants tucked in? Taking a wet towel to them and getting all the excess black off?
No, no. All those suggestions where silly. I knew I'd have to exchange them.
So, I'm going to exchange them for the Tan color and also go down a size so once they stretch they'll fit perfectly.
I'm suuuuuper bummed cause I absolutely loved them! But, having a pair of boots that leave black everywhere, and are a size too big just wasn't gonna happen.
I'll re-review once I get my exchange.

I got my exchange (finally!).
It took a while for me to get the new pair. When I say a while, I mean like 2 weeks total. So it's not too bad but I was just very impatient.
I Love love love love them!!!!! I got the Chestnut color in a size down from what I usually wear and they fit perfectly! They color is rich and very nice, way better than the picture.
The wool inside is so soft and cozy. I like these 10x more than the black!
One word of advice is **Make sure and water proof them right away!!** .... I wore them around the house the very same day I got them, and did the dishes. Dripped one big water drop on my right shoe and it stained. I took them off, wiped them down, and immediately put some suede spray to protect them.
They're warm and everything I wanted. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and will post a pic of my boots so you can see they're nicer than the pictures give them credit.
