I spent some time researching between the EMUs, UGGs and other brands. I obviously wanted the UGGs but was hesitant on spending $150-200 on them. I decided for the EMUs based on many reviews I read and their price compared to the UGGs. My main worry was whether they would be warm and the quality of craftmanship. I've never owned UGGs so I wasn't sure if all the fuss with them was truly because they were better or just Brand-craze based. After trying these on, I can definitely recommend them over the UGGs to anyone on a tight budget, for the price of the UGGs you could get TWO EMUs!! Very warm, comfortable shoe, medium to wide space, my foot can wiggle around effortlessly. Half a size larger than your regular shoe size is enough. Very soft, and really warm without socks, I don't even know if I could wear them with socks, might be too much. No goose walking, firm grip on your foot. I bought them in black, I'm a little worried they might get dirty with water, etc but have not had a chance to test this out. At first, they seem huge and clowny but after a while you begin to adjust and they look great with anything (jeans or with a skirt). So comfortable, I forget I'm wearing them!! And I have to walk around 15 blocks everyday to get to school!

These boots are wonderfully priced, warm, comfy and look great! Will buy more in a different color. You even get postage paid label in case you want to return them!

I was hoping that the fur lining would be a little thicker like my Bearpaw boots. The lining in the EMU's can get a little itchy on the legs if you have sensitive skin. They look very nice on, but felt a little tight. I hear they adjust to your feet with time, so I'm not worried.

Good alternative to UGG's.

I got each of daughters a pair of Emu boots. We had to return one to get a different size. Their policy is to have you go ahead and order the new pair and then return the first pair noting the new order number on the return. Be careful! Even though we ordered another pair in a smaller size, they would not accept the return of the first pair. My daughter did walk around her room in them a little before she decided they were too big. The Clausette said the bottoms were soiled and they had obviously been worn and would not refund the money. They gave us the option of mailing them back to us or donating them to charity. So do not walk in them if you think there is a chance you will want a different size. They acted like we were trying to cheat them when that was really not the case. Bottom line - the girls liked the boots and I was NOT thrilled with the seller.

Beware that while this lining is wool, it is not a true shearling which is found in uggs and some other brands. I bought these for my daughter last year and although she liked them and wore them alot, the lining was almost completely worn away by the end of the season. I recommend bearpaws as a better quality boot that look exactly like these. They have a real shearling lining and they're even less expensive.

i love these!! they're cozy and well made BUT they run big. i wish i would have gotten the next size down.

I love my emu boots. They are snuggly and warm. I got a 9W and I am really an 8 regular so they are roomy deluxe. I would say get your normal size.

I bought a pair of Emu boots in a rose color about 5 years ago. They are, without doubt, the best boots I have ever owned. No matter how cold the temperature in winter, my feet stay toasty-warm and these boots do not let in water at all....not even a hint of dampness. They are comfortable and grip the ground well when its slick. I just wish I had bought more as the price has increased, of course, over what I paid for my pair a few years ago.

I purchased of boots as a "Today's Deal" offer, so I got a sweet deal. I was skeptical about them, based on the existing reviews which generally give the boots a bad rap, so I'd like to rectify that in part. Based on having these boots for one day, and wearing them just in the house, I can say they are extremely comfortable. They're cozy, for I'm wearing them like slippers, and not at all too hot. I like their height; well proportioned. They fit according to size and appear to be very well constructed. The wool is a bit scratchier than that of similar LL Bean boots we have, yet I can't tell when wearing socks. Further, these boots have tread, so I'm a bit skeptical at this point about the reports that they're freakishly hazardous. I hope these boots get me through another abyssmal Ohio winter. I'm cheap and appreciate that these boots cost a fraction of what UGG boots cost. They're also great for my teenage daughter, who noticed the iron color has a greenish cast, but she likes the sort of sea gray-green color. For me, my chocolate boots are a great color to wear with casual clothes, and they appear to be toasty little workhorses, which is exactly what I need. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

I am a shoe diva and I have much more expensively priced shoes than Emu but I wanted to see what the bad reviews and comparison to UGGS was all about. I ordered the pink orchid and I was pleasantly surprised. I also own UGGS as well and as far as comfort and slight differences in workmanship I like them as much as my UGGS. They are a keeper. People I know shoes!!!!I must own at least 60 pair of shoes and I do not get the bad reviews.Yes there are a few minor differences but still worth trying if you cannot afford UGGS. I give them 5 stars for style,warm and comfort.Do not hesitate to purchase them . I am a size 8 1/2 Medium and went down to an 8 and they are not huge. They fit perfectly ( not too tight or loose). I like my Emu bronti Hi Boots as much as my Uggs Cardy Boots. Go ahead and give the Emu Boot a try.
