I've had and tried several mp3 players in the past and nothing beats the features that this mp3 player has and at the price. The built-in speaker itself makes this player stand out from the others. When I recieved this player, from jr.com through amazon $119.99, I had to spend a bit of time reading the manual, (...), because of the many features and I just couldn't simply get to all the functions just by playing around with it alone.

The good:

BUILT-IN SPEAKER!

easy mp3 playing

Line-in, built-in microphone, direct FM recording to mp3

192, 128, 64, 32, 8 bitrates on mp3 direct encoding

standard 1/8th earphone jack

playlists

joystick like cursor navigation through menus

built-in AAA recharger

bunch of surprise features

it's sliik

the bad(eh not that bad)

lacks faster playback speed option

doesn't come with a jog/armband

no rech.lith.ion battery.

If mp3 players had a standard then the SR-M620 should be it.

By far the best.

This is one of the best budget MP3 players i have used.

Note that as opposed to what another reviewer has said, this player comes with a rechargeable battery (AAA) but i didnt notice it until i finished my own alkaline battery.

It was hiding inside the bubble packing, good that i just checkled before throwing it away.

The best things:

-It can rechargeable battery that comes with it (or any rechargeable AAA) while it is connected to the USB

-It can connect to a USB port without any cables

-No drivers to install, it just shows up as an external drive

-Tried the Voice recording, FM (works only when i plug in the earphones (any) -works as antenna)-- both the features works impeccably

-It has a small speaker on one end, so if the earphones are not plugged in you can just listen thru the speaker, not too loud but enough to listen to a song without earphones

-This player comes with everything, no need to even buy a rechargeable battery

-Lots of features, multi color backlight

-I just got it for $29 after MIR and this thing is still working :)

The worst things:

-There is no arm band or a belt clip included

-There is a neck band given but it has integrated earphones, so if you use your own earphones you cant hang it anymore (or instead you might be hanging 2 pairs of earphones including the one in your neck band)

There is one more software inside this player called 'remote PC' or something, i'm not sure how it works or whats it for.. for the moment i'm enjoying the player.

buy it.. you wont regret.

UPDATE:

The player still rocks... the rechargeable battery that came with the player got exhausted and doesnt give more than 3hrs of play time, so i bought a couple of AAA's and the player works simply perfect!! I use it everyday now.

Someone by name Anna Haley asked where i bought, sorry Anna i couldn't figure out how to send you a personal message with the answer. I bought the player at JR.com on Thu Jun 16, 2005. It came to approx a final proce of $25 after a $15 rebate.

nice buy... would never regret!!

Great player. Too many features to mention. Takes some time to learn navigation. FM reception good. Many recording options and high quality. Build quality is great. The external speaker is more useful than expected. Forget the big boys, this company is serious about innovation.
