A great value, I got mine for $199 -$20 rebate ($179). This card never runs hot, the ASUS direct-pipe-contact cooling system w/ 2 fans works very well. It comes with a factory overclock of 850mhz (about 30mhz over reference) and I've overclocked it further to 920 mhz core, 1840mhz shader, 2300mhz memory (I dont use the ASUS software, I use MSI afterburner). I'm running Battlefield 3 @ 1920x1080 with everything set to 'high' and I get about 50 frames per second on average. At worst, it dips to about 40 frames per second, and at best I've gotten up to 80 FPS, which I find VERY ACCEPTABLE [phenom II 975, 8gb DDR2 800].

With my 920mhz core overclock, this card only got up to around 66 degrees c. (very cool for an overclocked card) while running BF3 for hours. Its very quiet at idle, but can get a bit loud when under load. The noise really doesn't bother me, its not THAT loud, but I can't give you an actual decibel level.

If you want to spend less than $200 on a video card, this is a great deal. If you want a GTX560, this is one of, if not THE best you can get. If you are willing to spend a little more, shoot for a 560ti, but I would still recommend the ASUS brand with the DIRECTCUII cooler, its one of the best video card coolers/manufacturers out there.

If you want to spend a little bit less but want similar performance, look for a Radeon HD 6870.

I needed a fast and quiet card that should not require an upgrade for my 400W power supply. The card does the job perfectly: it has 3 performance levels (P0, P8 and P12), which are automatically selected depending on the load - this feature can also be disabled for highest performance, but I did not notice any difference. Transition to higher clocks is so smooth, I did not realize it was there until I used monitoring software.

The fans speed when idle is about 15% keeping the GPU at 28-32 Celsius degrees. They start to be heard at about 40% speed and become noisy above 65%, but nothing too bad and it's easily covered by the games' sounds (keep in mind my whole system was build to be as quiet as possible).

Every game thrown at it keeps constantly in 60FPS (v-sync enabled for smooth animation) while using the new 16xCSAA (which is in fact 4xMSAA + 12xCV) and 2xSS for transparent textures in 1920x1080 with the 'ultra' setting. Starcraft 2 needs to be set in 'ultra' too, as 'extreme' halves the FPS for some reason.

Another positive aspect is that the card routes the system sound through the DVI socket as well, so a DVI to HDMI cable carries sound to the monitor as well as HDMI to HDMI. This is particularly important when your monitor is also your TV, since you can hook your speakers straight to it and use them for both TV and PC.

On the bad side be aware the card is big, I had to re-arrange some of the SATA cables in my system.

This is a great card beginners to intermediate gaming computers. It doesn't break the bank as much as the others out there on the market, factory overclocked, sweet metal design, fans are super quiet and it will play MOST games on high/ultra settings. Great deal, great card, great buy.

This card is quiet two fans and runs everything at max that I throw at it. Huge card though. If you do not have a full size case it may not fit. I had to move my hard drive out of the way. When I opened the box it came in I truly did not think it was going to fit. If you have a full size case highly recommend this card.
