Like many others, I'm hooked up on the soundtracks by Ennio Morricone. So I purchased this combo (Music Sheet and CD) to be able to play it on a piano. It turned out that this music is not very well suited to be played as a solo piano. Often, it has just a repetition of the same theme over and over, and it does not sound that great as a piano piece. But since I've got a Yamaha YPG-635 keyboard, I can play a few pieces if I change a "voice" on my keyboard to trumpet, harmonica, synth etc plus add strings or something else (I'm glad that YPG-635 has 500 different voices) as a second layer or split. So it would be beneficial to me, if it indicated instruments and style for each composition to save my time. Otherwise you need to digest CD to figure this out. But unfortunately CD does not have all the pieces that are in the book, so you have to youtube it. The only way you can play it, if you have a digital keyboard with various instruments/voices with dual and split functions and have access to the soundtrack. It would be very benefitial if CD had all the pieces that are in the book.

Here is the full list:
1. "Amanti d'oltretomba" from "Amanti d'oltretomba" (included on CD)
2. "Addio a Cheyenne" (Farewell to Cheyenne) from "C'era una volta il West" (Once upon a time in the West)
3. Theme from "C'era una volta il West" (Once upon a time in the West)
4. L'uomo dell'armonica (Man with Harmonica) from "C'era una volta il West" (Once upon a time in the West)
5. Theme from "Giu la testa"
6. "Trionfo d'amore" from "Gli indifferenti"
7. "L'incontro" from "Il maestro e Margherita" (Master and Margarita)(included on CD)
8. "Saharan dream" from "Il segreto del Sahara" (Secret of Sahara)(included on CD)
9.

This is a well produced work of art. The sound quality is great and the music reminds me of the great "spaghetti westerns" of Clint Eastwood. I recommend it!

In terms of scope and influence, Ennio Morricone's musical CV is formidable and without question. Having composed some of the most memorable (and hummable) movie themes, as well as a career that spans decades and continents, it would be hard to find fault with any sheet music handed down from this master of composition.

If you are a music score enthusiast and a piano player, this compilation of songs will be a welcome addition. There are a number of selections from his Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns, as well as a number of the films from his native Italy. Also included is the theme from Once Upon a Time in America, which initially prompted me to purchase this book.

It also contains a CD of the music in the songbook, which is decent enough, although better arrangements of the music can be found elsewhere.

As an accordion player, I was curious to see if I could play these, although they were originally arranged for piano. My discovery was that I could work through some of them (including the above mentioned piece) but only after finger-work that was VERY counter-intuitive and almost impossible in some cases. The bass layout for accordions is very rigid, and the flexibility that a piano provides is missing at times.

So I would NOT recommend this for accordion unless you are hard-bitten. However, if you love piano and film music, then this will be a great addition to your collection.
