This album is not groundbreaking but it is exceptional alternative music. Lovedrug is a band that always remains true to itself. The only difference between EP1 and other albums is the depth and also the collective mood of the tracks. Each song is relatively simple compared to past works by the band. The melodies are great but every once in a while you think that maybe you've heard that tune before somewhere else and a little different. Another change is the flatline tone for the whole EP. Normally Lovedrug albums are roller coaster rides; going up, higher, straight down and then somewhere beyond. This play list is very conservative and relaxed. By themselves the songs are unique but a few are similar to each other and blend together a little. So in the end I would say that these songs are a little less memorable than they could have been and might not get stuck in your head. But this is an EP and for that it is excellent. Great buy for fans of Lovedrug and fans of the indie genre.
