Powerful and fast - Great product,
By Pros: - really powerful. Some sharpener stops when you apply a little bit pressure. Not this one. - fast - decent size receptacle for the shavings so you don't have to empty it every week. - durable, we have been using them for 3 years and more Cons: - looks and colors - accepts only regular size pencils

This review is from: EPI1900 - Model 1900 Electric Pencil Sharpener (Office Product)
This is wery good sharpener. Pencils are in fact really sharp after using it and it doesn't brake them while processing.I can not call its performance excellent, because I know how such things can work. They are very common in Japan. Sometimes it sharpens slightly awry and the sharped wood surface around the slate is not smooth. This is not a big deal though, I am glad I purchased this thing, it does what it should.

Beware switching models - inferior brand?,
This review is from: EPI1900 - Model 1900 Electric Pencil Sharpener (Office Product)
I bought this expecting to receive the Elmer's EPI 1900 and instead received an X-acto by Boston made in China that looks just like the picture. I guess they are all the same? This was not from Amazon, but from Shoplet.First of all, regular normal pencils almost don't fit - it was very snug and a hexagonal pencil wouldn't go in at all. As I pressed in very gently, the motor stopped. I had to back out the pencil for the sharpener to turn. Then when finished, I had sharpened wood with the lead off-side. I removed the shaving cup and noticed there is only one hexagonal blade which pretty much guarantees an uneven cut. I got the same results for two other tries. I hope I can return it since it must be in restock condition according to the Shoplet return policy. I don't know if having been used on three pencils will make it unable to be restocked... I'll go with the higher priced model from Amazon next time.
