5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Stand (Have it on a 1977 Schwinn Volare) - Start Cringing Roadies
Excellent, I love it and left it at it's long height. Makes working on your bicycle that much easier (very simple to true your wheels, adjust your brakes, or work on any part of your bicycle). It's extremely stable, especially if you're working on one of your wheels. You can tip your bicycle to the front wheel, or to the rear wheel. On rainy days, you can spin the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Kickstand Review
This is a large and fairly stable kickstand. There is no special mounting point behind my MTB's bottom bracket like there normally is on road bikes. However, the kickstand uses a large diamond shaped mounting nut on the top that makes it possible to mount on bikes without any mounting bracket built in. I was somewhat concerned that the legs of the kickstand would not...

On rainy days, you can spin the tires and listen to them purr with their clickity clickity hum. When you remove a wheel, your bike becomes that much more stable as it shifts all it's weight to the opposite end.

Through extensive forum reading, I had heard of others who had issues of the bolt becoming loose. Two ways one can solve that problem.

1) Loctite or

2) Rubber Gasket (can get at Home Depot)

3) Both

I went with option 2 mainly because I did not want to scratch my paint or dent my frame. My bike is Reynolds 531 (not a carbon frame bike); however, if my bike was carbon I would consider adding in the gasket to help distribute the torque without cranking it down too much, and I would add in the loctite.

Excellent kickstand, would buy it again with no hesitation for my road bike.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like it !, May 28, 2009

An excellent and stable design. I had no problem installing it on my Swobo Dixon. It does require trimming of the legs if you want to minimize the height of the bike when on the stand but IMO this adds to the versatility as to the frame sizes it will fit. The mounting bolt was plenty long for me.

Users should note that with the foldup design of the stand it is not possible to just roll the bike off of the stand as can be done with dual leg bicycle stands that more closely resemble motorcycle center stands such as the Hebie Bipod and clones. The design of the Esge Plescher stand though is such that it is much more out of the way when folded up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great kickstand, June 26, 2008

This is a great kickstand. If you load down your bike, then you really need a two leg kickstand. There are cheaper models, and they may be fine- I haven't tried them. I have installed this device and am very pleased. It is reasonably light (alloy), but very sturdy. What else can I say? It's only a kickstand, but it is a great kickstand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only the best!, April 4, 2010
This review is from: ESGE Two-Leg Kickstand 320mm Silver (Misc.)
I first discovered these in Germany in 1986. I fell in love with it. It was the only kickstand that could keep my bikes upright with panniers (saddle bags) on, especially if they were loaded. It was the only kickstand that could keep a wheel in the air when I needed to work on the bike. It was the only bipod design that still actually worked like a regular kickstand, and didn't get in the way of the chain on 15+speed bikes, or interfere with the ground-clearance on mountain bikes.

It is just simply the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kickass Kickstand, January 31, 2011

This kickstand is GREAT!!

Super easy to install and operate. Strong and sturdy even while being sleak enough to be completely out-of-the-way while folded up.

Legs are pretty long and I thought about sawing them down to fit my bike just right but then I found myself parking on soft ground . . . the extra length let's the stand sink in and still be stable.

Ordering from Amazon was easy. Took a few weeks but that's alright.

Great!

The product is simple and sturdy. All the parts were in the box.

This ads so much comfort when stopping with a loaded bicycle.

Well spent money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kickstand Review, April 13, 2009

This is a large and fairly stable kickstand. There is no special mounting point behind my MTB's bottom bracket like there normally is on road bikes. However, the kickstand uses a large diamond shaped mounting nut on the top that makes it possible to mount on bikes without any mounting bracket built in. I was somewhat concerned that the legs of the kickstand would not clear my large rear 2.2" MTB tire, but it did.

The metal is bulky but fairly soft, and you can cut the legs to size for your bike.

My biggest complaint is that the bolt that passes through the top diamond shaped mounting nut into the base of the kickstand was too short for my oversized chainstay tubes. The tubes weren't that much oversized though (Giant CFM2), so any oversizing at all would be problematic. As it is, the bolt screwed in but only held with a few threads. Several threads were stripped under heavy load as the metal is fairly soft. Now the kickstand is essentially worthless unless I can find a longer replacement bolt for it.
