The thing is typical, made-in-China crap. If I could return without shipping losses I would. The plastic tubes are different lengths so it doesn't assemble evenly. So, the tarp piece doesn't fit snuggly all around. Then it doens't record all the "hits" properly. Outs are home runs, and triples are outs, etc. Give this one a miss

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not work very well, December 31, 2009

This might be good for a younger ball player, say 4 or 5, but the calls are not accurate, says strike most of the time, even when hitting the other zones. Sometimes says strike even when you haven't done anything. Very poor product, espn should be ashamed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy, December 3, 2011

I bought this for my 4 year old son. I thought it might return the ball to him after he threw it, but it didn't. The zones are really inaccurate and most balls that hit it are called strikes. The only thing it's good for is him not throwing the ball against the living room wall. I would get another ball returner.
