5.0 out of 5 stars ESPN golf is great, October 27, 2001

ESPN golf is great. The controls are easy to learn, and within five minutes of playing the game you swing like tiger woods! But than the challenge begins: 14 players to choose from, one can hit really hard but can't aim very good. Another can aim very acurate but can't hit far. Needless to say this adds to the game's depth. The sound are goods, a nice tune, lovely birds and other sounds of nature (rain, wind). Naturally the wind and rain infuence the flight and bounce of the ball. The graphics are functional and clear, no oscars here but they do the job perfect. With numurous tours to compete on, with increasingly difficult bukers, water and greens the game has a long lifespan.
Perfect game: easy to learn, impossible to master.

3.0 out of 5 stars Advance Golf, November 26, 2001
By
This review is from: ESPN Final Round Golf 2002 GBA (Video Game)
As a frequent traveler, I've been a big fan of gameboy golf. I just got the Advance Console and bought the 2001 ESPN Golf Advance. The graphics are pretty good but it's very easy for anyone who has played other golf games (Example: I got a 12 under on 1st time playing). (...) I have played the Mario Golf for Gameboy color for about a year and find that to be much more challanging.

2.0 out of 5 stars Boring after about 2 hours of play. Too easy-NOT realistic, October 25, 2001

I was really looking forward to trying out this game. I am extremely disappointed. Every single 30 to 50 foot put goes in the hole. Which means I essentialy one put. Now is that realistic? My golf handicap would be a negative 20 and I literally have hit a 58 on 18 holes with this game.

It gets extremely boring once you finish the total of 4 courses and play them more than 3 times each. Sure you can switch players with different abilities, but they all essentially have the same stroke but mildly different distances.

I would recommend buying a used copy and then reselling it after a week or so when you get bored. In fact, I have one to sell if you want.
