This 50-minute instructional film produced by ESPN Video covers the basic fundamentals of basketball as taught by one the game's best teachers, Duke University head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Year in and year out, Coach K.'s team is perhaps the most fundamentally sound team in the United States. Why? Because of his special ability to break the game down into simple drills that develop the basic skills necessary to succeed. His polished ability to teach the game is never more evident than in this video. Going a step further than dissecting the game into drills, he breaks the drills themselves down to show players ways to improve their ball handling, passing, shooting, footwork, rebounding, offense, defense, and teamwork skills. At the end of each segment, Coach K. offers his individual tips on how to improve. Having just signed on to coach a young boys & girls basketball team, I was looking for a video that was targeted towards teaching the fundamentals of basketball. Knowing that Coach K has had a exceptionally successful program at Duke, I decided to take a look at his video. The bottom line is I am well pleased with the video. It not only provides some common-sense insight into elementary strategies but also provides new and rusty coaches with some core drills to use with their team(s). Well worth the nominal investment.

I have watched the video a couple of times. Once to see the overall content and the second time to take notes. I'm sure I will watch it several more times. This video does a great job teaching the fundamentals of basketball. The content is good and the examples are great. I'd recommend it to anyone who like myself is coaching youth basketball for the first time.

This video is a must for all kids wanting to learn how to play basketball. Great drills for practices!! Coach K does an excellent job!!
