5.0 out of 5 stars For the serious MLS fan, October 4, 2000
This review is from: ESPN MLS Gamenight (Video Game)
With the letdown that was FIFA 2000, MLS gamenight leads the way with real MLS gameplay. With real teams, realistic players not to mention the ability to play a real 32 game season this game really rocks. Unlike FIFA 2000 that limited the realism of the true MLS game, MLS Gamenight lets you build a franchise. Trades in this game are realistic as well, you won't be getting Cobi Jones for some bench player. Also tourmanet setup is way better than before. The serious MLS fan will truly enjoy this game for all its complexities as well as awesome game play.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than FIFA 2001, May 9, 2001

This may not seem encouraging to prospective players, but I now have a repetitive stress injury from playing MLS Game Night so often. But, it's a pleasurable pain! I love this game! I picked up FIFA 2001 for PSX after coming across several reviews that stated it was the best game ever. Personally, I think MLS has a much better game format: the controls are simpler, you can create/edit your own players/team, obviously there are more opponents to choose from (worldwide, not just European), etc. Most of my other games are collecting dust on the shelves because I'm really devoted to this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply a Must HAve! for all soccer fans, March 19, 2001

Hands down the best soccer game in the market. SInce I played winning elevn 4 like 2 years I was impressed with its realism. A year after I found this MLS game and when i found out it was engined by the winning eleven games I knew I had to buy it.

Graphics 4/5: although graphics could be better, you also have to realize that its a PSX we really cant ask for much more. Gamplay 5/5: The most realistic game out there, scoring goals is 10X more real than that of any Fifa game. Controls 5/5: Controls are pretty simply to handle. Sound 3/5: Te sound was a bit dissapointing, lets hope that in the newer versions the can improve this. Overall 4.5/5: I must tell you that I am a hardcore soccer fan and always try to get the latest soccer games. and this has to be by far the best I've played so far, if you really like soccer, then you should get this one, it wont dissapoint you. I can hardly wait the PS2 version of MLS, the graphics seem a lot better, it will still be powerd by the winning eleven engine and hopefully the sound is upgraded. Hope this helped, Good Luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars WHOA MLS ROCKS!!, February 9, 2002

Laides and gentleman, boys and girls YOU are watching the very BEST soccer game ever. The gameplay is exelent , grafics are like many other games in the play station so it is ok sound also but those are minor details, in fact to really enjoy this game you must only check out the details IN the game , check out the goalkeeper , THE GOALKEEPER!! MY GOD it's freakking amaising the reality of him how he plays and catchs the ball dam it everything about the goalkeeper is freaking amaising, I could only buy this game only to watch the goalkeeper play.
Mls gamenight is much more game than fifa cause of the way the game unfolds , it's gameplay is a thousand times more fun than fifa.
There are little bad things in this game like grafics and sound , but that at the end doesn't matters if you have fun playing it, and thats the most important thing in any game.
For the last thing to mention about it, is always to remember to put the spanish comentator (Luis Omar Tapia) the best commentator of the world eventhou you don't know spanish you will enjoy him.
Have fun with this fantastic and extraordinary good game.

This is the American version of the Japanese soccer game "The Japanese League". I played this game back home and I have been looking for it here in the States for a looooong time. I have finally found it and I am so excited about it. It's the best and most exciting soccer game ever made. I just wish there is Japanese commentating on the games.
